IYC: Oron Nation Seeks For Akwa Ibom Zone

The Oron people in Akwa Ibom state who are from Ijaw extraction have insisted of having their zone.

The demand was made during their meeting with the president of Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) worldwide, Dcn.(Comr.) Peter Timothy Igbifa in his Portharcourt office on Tuesday.

Speaking to Myrrh Reporters immediately after the meeting, the leader of the delegation, Comr. Okon Etim Asuquo who is currently the secretary general Oron Union Portharcourt branch and secretary INC Oron Nation said they came to meet with the IYC President for his supports.
“we came here to meet with our national leader and to solicit his supports for our clanship and possibly become a zone of our own.

Okon said they are very vicious as far as Ijaw Youth Council and Ijaw National Congress activities is concern.
He also expressed his total displeasure over unfair treatment given to the Ijaw people in Akwa Ibom state over the years.

You will recalled that the Ijaw people in Akwa Ibom state were in the last Ataba constitution review/adoption convention, unveiled their longtime worries which have everything to do with having their own zone.

Myrrh Reporters also confirmed that Ijaw people in Akwa Ibom state are occupants of 7 oil rich local government areas which includes;
Eastern Obolo, Ibeno, Mbo, Oron, Udung-Uko, Urue/Offong/ Aruko and Okobo.

Some notable among the delegation were the Chairman caretaker committee of Eastern zone, Comr. Gabriel Sampson and Comr. Isaac Ikpe, member caretaker committee Eastern zone.

After watching the opinion poll conducted on the street of Kaduna this morning.

Below is my verdict.

1. Atiku is likely to have highest number of votes in the North in year 2023.

2. It seems we underrate Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso's popularity in the Northwest. Maybe because he's not popular on social media like other presidential candidates.

3. I think Atiku is very correct when he say 90% of Northern voters are not on social media.

4. Contrary to erroneous insinuation that Peter Obi doesn't exist in the North, if the poll isn't a lie, he may get up to 25% and above in Kaduna state.

5. I was shocked to the bone marrow when I noticed nobody voted for APC presidential candidate in the opinion poll.

6. Some of the respondents praised the APC candidate but says he's old. My question is; Is Atiku a young boy?

7. I said it last month that APC has a lot of work to do in the North if the party is serious about 2023.

8. With the look of things in the Southern part of Nigeria, Northern votes might determines who will be in Aso rock in 2023.
