Hello, counselling and therapy services has been a long standing interest of mine and I already do them part time. But now, I want to delve formally into it.

What professional certifications do I need to acquire or professional body do I need to join to formalize my pursuit. Online, I saw Counselling Association of Nigeria and also, Institute of Counselling. I dont know which one is legit and a recognised body amongst the two.

Please, anyone who have towed this path should lend me a hand.

I do not want the typical university certificate. I may not learn much from it. I'm seeking a dedicated professional certificate.

I have no idea what is obtainable in Nigeria in regards to training and certification but a good grounding in psychology is very important for anyone who wants to be a therapist.
