ABUJA, Nigeria—Witnesses to the shocking public kidnapping of Nigerian and British national Nnamdi Kanu—head of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) group—told The Daily Beast that the separatist leader was stepping out of his car at an airport when a group of heavily armed men forcefully seized him to arrange his transfer to Nigeria. |

Kanu, who spent much of his adult life in the UK, was first arrested in Lagos in 2015 on an 11-count charge bordering on terrorism, managing an unlawful society, treason and illegal possession of firearms, among others. He was jailed for more than a year despite a number of court orders ruling for his release. The IPOB leader was eventually released on bail in 2017 but fled abroad, where he continued to advocate for the secession of Nigeria’s southeastern region. A prior secession attempt was made in 1967, under the name of the Republic of Biafra, triggering a three-year civil war in which nearly three million people died. daily beast are mischievous crooks, kanu didn't flee, the Nigerian army assassination team was sent to his to kill him and he escaped and the army killed 28 innocent people at his house 1 Like |

Bifwoli: This story can be told either of two ways: that the extradition followed laid down international laws and protocols....or it was an extraordinary rendition! Now if the former was the case, it stands to reason that both Kenya and Nigeria would have nothing to hide, and they can inform the world how the extradition transpired! Why would Kenya deny knowledge of it....does that make sense to you? However if the latter was the case, it would explain the reticence of both countries to acknowledge being part of such a illegality! Hope you get it now? 2 Likes |

Someone was arrested in affiliation to terrorists in an AIRPORT and the Kenyan government didn't know about it He was in Kenyan for 8days and the Kenyan government still don't know about it Such an operation cannot take place in the AIRPORT without the Kenyan government knowing about it! A jet also took off from the land of Kenyan and the government is also not aware Then does Kenya have a president Its a dent on the Kenyan government to continue to deny this fact It's a shame to leadership! 2 Likes |
