A mad man well known by the University of Benin Student who stays at UNIBEN Maingate, close to 20th street, BDPA has regained his senses.

Incident happened today, the 29th of July when some evangelist were preaching close to the fly-over, Uniben Maingate.

The mad man was seen getting back to his senses and regaining full consciousness of himself.

The human brain is an intriguing machine indeed.

And yes, people who were once seen without hope in the mental department, can over time regain use of their mental faculties even without treatment.

I have myself observed and experienced it and can attest to it. The human brain is not as easily damaged/destroyed as formerly assumed.

He is not mad but mentally ill, but sadly he lives among the mad and so reason why he never got the care he needed to help him adjust even as his brain healed itself.

Have you ever experienced mental illness before? the symptoms are similar most across the board, only more expressed in some than in others.

It is made even harder when cultural norms present additional stress on the patient and his/her wellbeing. Those you call manmen are human beings that are in need of help and care not persons to be cast out to fend for themselves. If you instead take away some of their stresses, you aide in their recovery but when that safety net is not made available to them, their recovery becomes even more difficult.

A misconception that most have of those they call "madman" is that they are made 24/7. That is far from the truth as even the brain needs a break from all that torture and torment. So even in the most insane among up has their off-days , days where they symptoms seem almost not there at all.

So when you see a man on one of those off-day it is easy to assume him healed.

Sometimes they can, other times, they can't be bothered, are too tired to even do that, or can't even remember where home is. Many of them are homeless and have no home to go to.
