Nigeria has always rigged elections!!! There's no way, the north would've allowed an Igbo presidency

I worked with INEC during that election and it was rigged. Onyema Ugochukwu was mandated to deliver Abia State. I worked in his polling Unit and we never allowed our unit to be rigged and Ojukwu won. Oga please talk what you know.

I was made to believe that election was heavily rigged

Obviously you were a baby at that time. So please shut the f**k up when adults are talking. Don't hide behind the keypads and dish out nonsense... Rig my foot!

The margins were enough proof that it was a landslide victory.

Azikiwe was a fox! Ojukwu knew that for sure! Show me five politicians who faithfully followed him and would do so again with the benefit of hindsight. The man lived for himself! He bred the likes of the shameless Nwafor Orizu whose PhD was good for unhooking the VC’s Secretary and 419ng entire communities.

Also, in 1979 the south-east worked with the north to see the emergence of Alex Ekwueme as Nigeria’s first vice-president under a presidential system of government — and with Shehu Shagari as president — less than 10 years after the Nigeria-Biafra civil war. In fact, while Ekwueme was a member of the National Peoples Party (NPP), Shagari was a member of the National Party of Nigeria (NPN). But this did not stop the entente cordiale.

In what ballot box? Nigeria’s Election laws stipulate that a presidential candidate must win 25% of votes in 2/3 of 36 states before pronounced winner of Nigeria’s presidential election. 19 states and Abuja were proliferated in northern region by northern soldiers who wrongly used land mass or population as criterion to proliferate too many states (19) in the northern region, allowed only 17 states in the two southern regions that formed independent Nigeria with the northern region. That practically consigned political leadership to northern politicians.
No Igbo or Yoruba can win presidential election in Nigeria unless the northern region largely led by Fulani is not interested in supporting a northern presidential candidate.

Jonathan and Obasanjo presidencies were merely enhanced because the northern region saw the need.

Nothing will justify the betrayal of Ojukwu, a man who fought for Biafra, I stopped supporting anything IPOB or Biafra since that election. Ojukwu couldn't even win my state.

No other tribe believed in a United NIGERIA than igbos. Ojukwu opted for secession when northerners felt southerners should live in drowning torment of deprivity. He dropped his gun when things returned to normal even helping to build a democratic NIGERIA.

Now the character of recurring decimal of hardship made in northern NIGERIA has entered into seat with the vision to torment igbos.

Just like the time of Azikiwe and ojukwu, MNK is a necessary prophet of the time.

Igbos are not cowards!!

A lot of these IPIG terrorist monkeys didn't know that Igbos have always been kissing the asses of the Fulanis. Igbos are still the number one Fulani slaves.
Go and ask your fore fathers such as zik, Ojukwu and ekueweme.

I couldn't read the epistle but the answer is very simple - SE people have a universal mind. We don't play tribal, myopic politics like other regions. The first mayor of Enugu was a fulani man. That's how we roll cool
Lol, you don't play tribal, myopic politics just because you knew Ojukwu didn't even stand a chance of winning? Okay. And why did you guys vote for Hausa-Fulani Bashir Tofa over Abiola in 1993?

@op why this preoccupation with the southeast?you admitted that we have giving much to this "marriage" and like britain who saw loopholes and left the EU,cant we walk out of a failed marriage and a bully masqurading as a partner??

Nwabufor must be one of those southern people waiting for political restructuring of Nigeria to take place. They are waiting for Godot. Arewa can’t give in to political restructuring.
GB pleaded for years to the EU for reforms. At one point, BREXIT fever caught up most of the British people.
GB left after a referendum.
But some gullible Nigerians in the south are reading the 1999 Constitution of Nigeria supervised by Arewa soldiers who omitted referendum on the constitution, because the soldiers knew that they had restructured Nigeria politically from which they consigned super political powers to the north.

Fact is that the legitimacy of the 1999 constitution which was not subjected to popular referendum, is dubious.

Let the separatist zones conduct their respective referendum on continuity or dissolution of the fraudulent country called Nigeria.

They voted for a Fulani imposed candidate

Why didn't they vote for Falae.

Always voting against Southern unity except 2015

Zik formed govt. with Tafawa against Awo
Voted against Awo 3times
Voted against Abiola
Voted against Falae.

In 2015, they remember southern unity.
Infact, if it wasn't for the South South States, Abiola would have lost to Bashir Tofa in 1993. Left to Igbos, Abiola would automatically lose.

Intelligent article. The coming of MASSOB chiefly sponsored by Obasanjo to dwindle Igbo political fortune, destroyed Igbo politically. How the mighty fell, from a politically strategic ethnic group to now cry babies.

Igbo PDP leaders like Kalu, Nwobodo, Okadigbo, Nzeribe etc who elevated Obasanjo in 1999 over their zonal interest were the cause of Igbo political dearth. Alex Ekwueme who ended up as a political lightweight rather than fight gloriously just like Buhari, choose to become subservient to the dictates of the PDP. What stopped the docile Ekwueme from forming a new party to aim for the Presidency, but rather he choose to be boy boy to Obasanjo.

Igbo help birth PDP, but they ended up as used and dump by the bigger boys. 1999-202? will forever be the period Igbos died politically in Nigeria all thanks to the absence of Zik.

Igbos are not really concerned about where the leader comes from but who has a better program to move their business forward which they saw in Obasanjo better than Ojukwu, despite their love for Ojukwu many Igbos didn't see him as possessing the business acumen of Obasanjo to attract investment.
Obasanjo was able to groom a new set of leaders for Nigeria in every sector with unknown entities like Elrufai becoming prominent, military officers that have tasted power like Brig Gen Marwa were retired. Every tribe and zone in Nigeria under Obasanjo could boast of good representation at the national and state levels which we have not seen under Buhari.

If this is true, why can't Igbos replicate this at the state level? Why do you have people like Ikpeazu and Ugwuanyi as Governors?
