I'm not Ghanaian but there's no history anywhere of Men naming their children.

It's always women, and it's at the moment after birth, When the Midwife asks you what is the child's name. At that moment the woman says the name and it is registered on the birth certificate at that very moment.

Even Nature, respects that than any other.

Child naming ceremony is just formalities, it doesn't hold water, maybe that's where this discussion is moving towards.

What you said is applicable to your tribe not to all other tribes..
In mine, it is the man that names and chooses the names.. all our name was giving to us in my family by my Dad..
Don't use your tribe as a yardstick to be the global standard..

You have a logical point there.
That doesn't take the fact that I have been the one naming my children.
When it comes to naming, the woman always want her own name to stand especially the English names, if both parents are not from the same tribe, but if they are the same tribe, she wants to take it all. This is mostly applicable to the present days girls.

This is the first time I’d come across this “rule”.

Parents name their children or sometimes they pick from the pool of names sent in from extended family members.

There’s no rule to this.

Both parents agree on suitable names. Sometimes the father picks the traditional name while the mom picks the English name of vice versa. Both parents are keen on picking names that mean something to them as they celebrate their baby. Sometimes it’s a grandparents’ name etc.
