Seun:

Hello,

Nairaland is currently the most popular Nigerian website, but the site has not been growing. I thought it was due to the downtime issues, so after last month's involved server maintenance process, I expected the site to gain more traffic instantly. The reverse has been the case; probably because of my crackdown on HYIPs.

Now there are competitors springing up left and right, including foreigners operating sites much bigger than mine, but out of fear I have been reluctant to change the Nairaland formular that seems to be working so well. I'm afraid that this fear of mine will enable a new competitor to rise up and overtake Nairaland.

That's so sad, isn't it? What are we to do? What am I to do?

Seun, you are not using the minds and brains of Nairalanders to help this site be what it could become, which is a great pity. Still, I'm sure you've seen immense growth since the above.

Introduce a dislike button and show people's likes and dislikes on their profile. It might be an incentive for people to use their brains a bit more.

From 37,000 position in Alexa ranking, it’s gone up to 784 position.

That’s no easy feat. Wish they were a public traded company. Imaging buying Nairaland stocks around 2007
