Messi could have easily scored 3 but the keeper saved them all.
Messi played an indifferent game against Madrid the other day, but i'm glad he's looking sharp again. The next goal keeper won't be so lucky.

Good win for us. We keep the focus firm.

Nice display by the boiz... We've gone past this and look forward to the next game on friday against Espanyol in the Barcelona Derby.

Wanted Messi to score buh he didn't. Thank God he went home with two assist to his name and alot of solo runs which are delightful to watch. I guess Espanyol's keeper won't be this lucky as Yoél.

Visca el Barca.

I saw this news late yestaday evening, and it is proving to be true...
According to German Bild newspaper,AS And Barcastuff,Ter Stegen has signed a pre-contract agreement with Barca..
According to the report,Zubi travelled to Monchengladbach yestaday to finalise the details...
This is really a good news, and i hope it becomes more than concrete soon!!

Yeah it's true. Infact, it was on Monday and not yesterday. Anywayz, Ter Stergen was interviewed in Monchengladbach's training ground and he tried to be smart in his response as he said and I quote "I am happy here and I have a contract here. I hear the Barca rumours, but nothing more". Meanwhile, while the interview was still on, his fellow team mates were just chanting "Barcelona!" all through the time he had the interview. I guess that's to tell you and I that everything is true.

There had to be communication with Barca as Monchengladbach were willing to renew his contract, and as such he had to signal to Barca so for him to be certain as not to refuse renewal from his club and at the end of the day, Barca doesn't sign him. That was why Zubi had to make a quick trip to tire the knot pronto. It's more or less a done deal now.

I hope he continues to impress.

I'm really excited that he's joining us. He won't have problem adjusting to the club since our new coach don't expect the team to build attack from the back anymore. Valdes now kicks the ball away as ferocious as he can, mostly without a destination. So the 'myth' of being a goalkeeper for Barca is no longer any thing outta ordinary. Any keeper with good reflexes and concentration will do just fine.

You are right... if it were Martino in charge of Super Cup last season, the one we won by 3 goals to 2 against Madrid that Valdes sold the match to Maria, I guess it wouldn't have happened cause he (Valdes) would have easily sent it out to the stands if possible.

EXPERTS DO NOT BELIEVE HE WAS INVOLVED IN TAX FRAUD
Tax office exonerates Messi

Two tax office experts told a Gavá (Barcelona) court on Wednesday
that Leo Messi did not take part in the management of his image
rights, according to legal sources.

The accused in the case are the player and his father, Jorge Horacio
Messi, allegedly guilty of tax evasion to the sum of €4 million
corresponding to the 2007, 2008 and 2009 financial years.
The tax office officials who testified today were the same ones who
drew up the report on the player's alleged strategy to avoid paying all
of the tax due on his income from image rights.

According to sources close to the case, the two officials ratified their
report before the judge trying the case and stated that they do not
believe that the player was involved in managing his image rights.
Messi and his father appeared in the Gavà court on 27th September. A
few weeks earlier, they had paid €5 million owed to the taxman, and
this "reparatory payment" avoided the judge imposing a bond to
guarantee any future civil liability.

Prosecutors stated in their action that the intent to defraud was on the
part of Messi's father, who also acts as the player's agent.

Lionel Messi apologizes to Sepp Blatter for being so likable cheesy cheesy

Dear President Blatter,

I read that you have gotten into some trouble with Cristiano Ronaldo, Real Madrid and the Portuguese federation for saying that you liked me more than him. This upset me very much. I also saw that you apologized for your comments, but I feel that I am the one who should apologize to you for causing this trouble in the first place.

I'm sorry for being so nice and for doing things that you and many other people like so much. For too long now, comparisons between Cristiano and I have produced negativity for many people around the world and I realize that if I wasn't the way that I am, this wouldn't happen and others wouldn't get hurt by it. I tried making children in the United States cry and not paying my taxes in Spain. I even scored just 60 goals in 50 matches last season instead of 73 in 60 matches like the season before. But people still love me and insult other footballers like Cristiano for not being exactly like me.

You said that Ronaldo has "more expenses for the hairdresser" than I do, but that's only because I have a very serious gel allergy that prevents me from using fancy hair products. If it wasn't for the threat of a very painful death, I would have enough grease in my hair to start a kitchen fire at a McDonald's. I would also love to boldly wear clothing that angers people by being too tiny for my body the way Cristiano does, but I already wear clothes originally made for dolls and there simply isn't anything smaller. I know this is adorable, but it's also frustrating to the point where I spend two to three minutes a day not smiling and laughing.

I am extremely disappointed in myself for causing these problems to you, Cristiano, Real Madrid and Portugal. I'm not sure what I can do to make it up to all of you, but I will promise to try harder to be unlikable so these awful situations can be avoided in the future. I will tell my friends that I will pick them up from the airport and then never show up. I will write negative internet reviews for restaurants that I actually enjoyed. I will approach random people in the streets and blurt out spoilers to popular films and television shows. Whatever it takes to make Pele and Maradona argue about everything except me.

With a bit of luck, there will soon be a few mothers and fathers who see me as the kind of son that they wouldn't want to have because maybe they really wanted a painter or a sewage treatment specialist or even no kids at all. Then the world will never have to suffer these hurtful issues again. I'm going to make something charmingly offensive out of Lego pieces now.

Hugs and regrettably kind regards,

Lionel A. Messi

Letter sent by the President of Real Madrid, Florentino Pérez, to Joseph Blatter at 12:23 p.m.

Dear President,

We were surprised to read your remarks concerning our player Cristiano Ronaldo and his chances of being crowned Ballon d'Or and FIFA Player of the Year winner; this has caused great disappointment among the Real Madrid family because these misguided and unacceptable comments were made by the President of World Football's leading Authority.

On the one hand, they are unfair because they are made about a player who is respected the world over by millions of fans, and not just Real Madrid supporters. He is undeniably one of the greatest footballers that the world has ever seen. The comments are also disrespectful to him as a person as, on the other hand, he embodies sporting values in the eyes of society which is in genuine need of the kind of example that he sets; finally, it is our understanding that your remarks may determine the vote of those whose responsibility it is to decide on the winner of this accolade.

We, at Real Madrid, a club which has a special connection with FIFA in view of our position as a founding member, are profoundly disappointed by the whole episode and, as President of Real Madrid, I want you to know that we condemn your comments, which is why we would ask that you retract them to make up, to the extent possible, for the damage caused both to the player and the institution that we represent.

Yours Sincerely,
Florentino Pérez

Letter sent by the President of FIFA, Joseph Blatter, to the President of Real Madrid, Florentino Pérez, at 16:12 p.m.

Dear President:

I received your letter earlier today and was surprised by the content contained therein.

Firstly, I would like to point out that at the ceremony held last Friday at Oxford University, no discussions were held about the aspirations of any player with regard to the FIFA Ballon d'Or. At the end of my speech, and in response to a question about Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, the moderator asked me to choose between the two and, at that moment in time, having stated that Messi is the kind of son that any mother would like to have, I finally gave his name. However, I would like to make it quite clear that it is my opinion that Cristiano Ronaldo is at the same level as Messi and that both are extraordinary players, each in his own way.

I regret that this situation at a university ceremony has caused you so much distress and I would like to apologise for it. It was never my intention to cause discomfort or show a lack of respect to Real Madrid FC, one of it players or its support, not only because it is the founding club of FIFA but also because it is a club that I have followed and admired since I was a child.

Kind Regards,
Joseph Blatter.

People are just Funny....Madrid and their lots are simple pathetic sore losers..They have suceeded in diverting their Classico loss, and Galactico's Flop to a joke that Sepp Blatter is not even the generator....

Sepp Blatter shouldn't just have made those comments. Fine he's a fan too and he has his preference but at the same time he should realize his position. His apology is like throwing a knife away after it had already cut you.

That being said, records don't lie, Ronaldo has always been second best to Messi over the last five years and he shouldn't look for an excuse for not winning the Ballon D'or again this year, he's a great player but next year's award is between Messi and Ribery
