The government brain have been resetted by the severe financial crunch ravaging it @ present.Twitter has nothing to loose.

Dont defend blindly.Twitter rakes in billions of dollars from many country let alone Nigeria being ruled by a tyrannt. Many Nigerians have been using VPN to access twitter so the lost of revenue accruing from tax, and sundry goes to the FG government.

Imagine that the govt have lost over "$243million in the first 51 days of the ban on Twitter in the country..."
Meanwhile the FG can't ban FB, and other social media networks. So the foolishness is on the government.
Government lose 243 million because of twitter ban is lie from the pit of hell. Twitter that is not paying tax to government. How did government lose such amount? Explain please

The Federal government has nothing to lose. Twitter is losing revenue and that’s why they are willing to meet the conditions given to them by Federal government.

They will register in Nigeria as a business entity, open office in Nigeria, pay tax in Nigeria, subject their operation to NCC regulation and respect the sovereignty of Nigeria. That’s all we ask for.

No matter how you wailers try to spin this, it’s a big win for the Federal Republic of Nigeria and hopefully, other countries will learn how to curb the tyranny of big techs from Nigeria.
I like your comment forget wailers. How can government lose when twitter is not paying tax to it

Even via Nairaland, one will know many people have not been using twitter..

E don teeh wey we see all these twitter fake news tweets..
You obviously don't know what's going on, it's like nobody stop using twitter.

The only issue is that it wasnt unified as b4 because of vpn, but apart from some few apc politicians and arewa, Nigerians are still very much on twitter in their millions.

Nigeria doesn't have 30million users on twitter sha and I beg u, as a poor country like Nigeria ion think twitter is making that much from us.

Jack just like this country, u can tell from the time he came to visit and even employed a guy that built a twitter bot.

If not for buhari tyranny, he would have built the headquarters here.

Anyway keep supporting apc n buhari, it will definitely end in tears for u.

Why are Buhari's supporters always dumb?

Do u know how much businesses lost due to the ban?

Do u know how many potential foreign investments we've lost due to the ban?

No all that don't matter.
BTW how much revenue do u think the govt would generate from taxing twitter?

But d ban didn't stop Nigerians from accessing Twitter thru other means. So what's Twitter loosing?

Revenue via targeted advertisements. Twitter makes money from companies who advertise on their platform. When you use a VPN, you're not technically in Nigeria so you only see adverts meant for whatever "country" you're tweeting from. This is useless to companies who patronize Twitter mainly to direct ads at Nigerian users.

Twitter were the biggest losers because Nigerians didn't stop tweeting, but they stopped generating revenue from Nigerian traffic. Hence, why they had to eat the humble pie.

If U believe Twitter begged den U believe Buhari is the best President ever... Nigerians have been using Twitter with and without vpn. The govt claims Twitter must pay tax and set up office in the country before it can do business.

Leave the kid alone , they don't know Twitter only agrees to talk because of people like them to protect their rights ... The minister of info and his gang have been the one begging twitter ( coming from a sure source ) and if twitter agrees to few of their terms they intend to use it as an achievement of the administration .

Kinds dont know how things work

People like you supporting tyranny are really ignorant
True twitter is meant for people and the more the merrier for them.
But that doesn't negate the fact that this government is wrong for trying to ban them

Nigeria as a country lost nothing. However, some fees Nigerians who get paid for promoting brands and trends on Twitter lost money. Twitter as a corporate entity also lost money, that’s why they are willing to accept the conditions set by FG.

To some extent the government is right here.
Twitter need a physical office and a pay tax since they are making money from Nigeria businesses and citizens
