Trust me these American capitalist tv series creators would not quit in sofar the weekly U.S. viewership, et al is still high and raking in income, they'll milk every possible penny from the show.

If you're very observant barring few exceptions most Americans tv series comes to a halt when their viewership begins to plummet, translating that if they continue filming they'd be running at a loss.
But, if the number are still high they keep shooting until their cast become old and feeble.
