Here is what happened: Ibe Kachukwu is a car enthusiast like Dino Maleye. So he bought a classic, very rare car from a private party seller in the UK and didn't know the car was stolen. He received all the papers and subsequently exported the car to US, where he is based. The US Customs ran the VIN upon arrival at the port and discovered it was reported stolen. Kachukwu's defense Lawyer is also suing UK Customs that allowed a stolen car to be exported. Their case is, the UK Customs failed to do it's job or verify the car was reported stolen. They accepted all documents, passed theft clearance, and shipped the car.
