That's why a Mercedes car bought from say Germany costs more than same model in the from the US.
The issue might strictly be emission based.

American cars are traditionally cheaper because America was the largest and most competitive car market in the world , because manufacturers sell a lot of cars there, pricing is very competitive. However the major factor is currency. Nigerians started bringing cars from the us when the dollar was very weak in the ‘90s Now that the dollar is so strong and the Euro is weak, American cars are not as cheap comparatively as they used to be. These days it can be cheaper to buy in Europe especially new Mercedes cars.

Hence the car dealers and the buyers who know about cars know European cars are more 'loaded' compared to American cars.
Eg a Toyota Corolla from Europe costs more than that from America,d one from America costs more than same model produced in South Africa.

The car was therefore released to Dr. Kachikwu.
The car was subsequently returned to the dealer in Nigeria and refunds were made to Dr. Kachikwu.

Did I understand what refund mean, because the write up says the Car was bought in 2009 and has been used for years before been sent to America initially.

They run the cars on American and UK roads and also fly with the cars back to their countries after summer.

Just that America has so many do's and dont's doesn't mean you cannot travel with your car into US.
