The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has asked banks to investigate their customers’ sources of income before opening an account for them, in response to the country’s worsening rate of corruption.

Abdulrasheed Bawa, the anti-graft agency’s chairman, made the appeal during a visit to Abuja by members of the Association of Chief Audit Executives of Banks in Nigeria (ACAEBIN).
