hustla:Your change in Visa status doesn’t have anything to do with your education though, staying in school or dropping out is at your discretion unless you are on a scholarship. People switched from Tier 4 to Tier 2 and still completed their studies. 1 Like |

Hi Everyone, Clarification is sought on a gift/benefit that looks too good to be true. Our house has received Energy Bills Support Scheme payment twice now (Oct &Nov) .I intend to return both as, I am getting uncomfortable. Are international students eligible for this ? Especially as the visa expressly states that we cannot have "no recourse to public funds" Please I need to get this right. I don't want issues now or in the future . Thank you |

Adazeal:Honestly, you have to think about this carefully. A PhD is seen as a full time job, hence the reason why you guys do not get term time off, just annual leave. If it’s a fully funded scholarship, eg, they are paying for your research, publications, accomodation and giving you stipend, you may have to inform them as they are your official sponsor even though it’s a Tier 4 visa and switching would appear that your research is now part time. So speak to your supervisor and get his advise on it, ILR and Money shouldn’t be the reasons you give him/her though. Also, be very careful how you approach this as they may not only revoke your scholarship, they might ask for a refund (I’ve heard of this happening.). God is with you! 5 Likes |

TesiB: Both of you should be able to travel anyhow - together or individually - you want provided the visa is already granted |

Ayowolebami: I understand your point, and that’s why he has to work with a trusted lawyer who will do the legwork for him. To me, EFCC will be the best bet. If the lawyer can write a powerful petition against the travel agency, they will most likely settle quickly and out of court. 1 Like |

Last week, the UK-India Young Professionals Scheme was confirmed. It's under the UK's Youth Mobility Scheme visa: https://www.gov.uk/youth-mobility/eligibility This scheme will allow 3,000 Indians (18–30 year-old degree graduates) to come to the UK to live and work for up to two years. -- I'm excited for Indians. They're winning on liberating their people for global excellence. Just wish Nigeria will learn the dynamics of social development, poverty reduction and opportunity generation for its citizens. 2 Likes

my sister ( on a student visa) has gotten her COS to switch her visa to tier 2, but passport is expired but has applied for new one but it is taking a long time to be ready. Can she do the application without a valid passport as her COS and visa expiration is very fast approaching? Is passport actually required or can her BRP suffice? |
Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by kode12: 3:49am On Nov 21, 2022 |
Zimzee: Why doesn’t she start the application and find out. If a current passport is required she can pause the application and restart when the passport arrives |
