There are so many doctors running private hospitals in nigeria. Funding is major problem. Poverty, poor health policy and lack insurance covearge are also limliting factors.
Even in abroad, health insurance and favourable health policy make it easy for those hospitals to function well. Government does not care about key sectors- education, health and security.

There are already thousands of successful private hospitals in nigeria. So I don't understand what the op is talking about.
My dad attended eye foundation, a private specialist healthcare enterprise and spent over 90 thousand naira on investigation for his eyesight problem in this same naija.
However, not every body is cut out for private business. Most doctors preferred to practice their calling without being burdened with the management side of things.

Big hospitals anywhere in the world are multi billion enterprise and it's serious business. They are mostly owned by private investors n businessmen NOT doctors.
They simply employ doctors and pay them for services rendered.

just an example of the ample opportunity the dumb doctors refuse to see. How can a smart doctor we owe 47 month salary and still be there .go to any teaching hospital and see the number of diagnostic centre operated by Indians.
