I think it is a better idea to strictly regulate activities of herders and farmers than outrightly ruling out open grazing in the vast uninhabited lands across the country.

To very large extent, open grazing can be said to be beneficial in ensuring affordable protein for Nigeria's vast low class population.

I will rather support restricted open grazing areas in states and regulation of farmer-herders relations than outrigh ban of open grazing.

Ohaneze should go and sit down.

No one group in the country should expunge the other, under any guise. It is not a great idea.

You think restriction can work. The inability of herders to understand and accept that farmers have a right over their farms brought this problem upon the country. They are uneducated, have a fixation on this archaic cultural practice while exuding a nauseating aura dominance. The ban of open grazing is the first step in the right direction of giving farmers a semblance of protection from the menace of herders. You talk of cost of meat, while forgetting that cost of foodstuff is already high because of this problem. Besides, protein is not found only in meat. Other sources of protein abounds in fish and crops.
