My advice to peeps.

Just hold on to your car now, maintain her properly.... She will be worth thrice very soon
This means you are expecting the economy to get worse. Cars loose value over time regardless of the financial situation, so if you find yourself in a country that (old) cars are getting more expensive, I don't know how to explain the economics to you

Yes of course it's what I expect, in fact that's the reality on ground.
How can the naira fight against the dollar.... It's almost impossible

With the current value of the naira it is a fair price.
But instead of me to buy this car for that amount I would rather but Toyota corolla, even if it is a fairly used high grade

Make I buy taxi for #2m...lol

Bros you seems not to know the latest about car prices now. The average price of taxi cabs is roughly 1.5m.
Specifically, Mazda 323s and 626s (tokumbo) are now sold between 1.4-1.5m; Golf 3 saloon between 1.4-1.5m; Golf 3 wagon between 1.5-1.7m; Toyota Avensis (1999-2001 models) between 1.6-1.9m; Mazda premacy (1999-2002 models) between 1.5-1.7m. The old open models( the vectras, asconas, etc) between 1.3-1.5m.
These are the prices obtainable from dealers in Lagos; not from dealers in other states who buy from Lagos.
Visit any car stand in your area to check out the prices of these 'poor and common man' cars. You will be left jaw dropping. Same price changes has befallen the spareparts of these cars. Be aware, Golf 3 engine now cost between 240,000-260,000.
Let us pray, or according to Seun Kuti, fight for a good government.

Continue deceiving yourself, maybe things can get worse for your family but not Nigeria as a whole. Car is not an asset, it will always depreciate in value.
