Banks are not federal or state owned and can decide not to do business on a particular day at their own discretion. I don't understand what business the state government should have with a private business deciding not to operate on a certain day.

It seems this Mondays sit at home is not working we should extend it to Wednesday so that Buhari will feel the heat very well and if he still refuse to release MNk we gonna extend it to Monday to Monday till MNk is out.

Punch has never hidden their hate for Buhari for ethnic and religious reasons.
Punch is a 100% example of senseless and irresponsible journalism.

Why should anyone love Buhari, the Fulani chairman of hatred, nepotism and bigotry who wants to rule over other tribes.
Why didn't just vie for miyetti allah presidency and leave other tribes that he hates alone?

It is now that the main Sit-at-home started for the banks sef.
..
But on a very serious note, this is high-handedness and gross intimidation for crying out loud..
Are the banks answerable to him in any way??
So, why is he shutting them?? What rights does he have to shut down banks?
..
If the banks gather together and take him to court, he is going down for it

Note that banks are capitalist and won't want to run at a loss. The Monday shut down bank did was because of security reasons.
If the govt can guarantee the security of all bank branches and take responsibility of any security lapse, then they will operate. But knowing the imo state govt as being what it is ie never wanting to take blame, they won't do it.
Better thing the govt should do is look into the fuel scarcity in the state and those selling @#250/l instead of making issues where there is none.

Shutting those branches.. the state will lost both igr, tax which is paid via TSA through banks and also create a little unemployment (face mask sellers, pure water etc Al) while the bank will lose man hour plus wage bill since they will have to pay their worker if they work or not

They didn't just obey the sit at home. They're more concerned about the safety of their staff members and properties.

But this governments will rather see their citizens die and use it as a bait for sympathy gain from their masters.

This government should stop being a problem to the state.

Sad to to see the whole of SE free falliing to the bottomf from every angle.

This is when a scoeity gets self destructive from the inside because of generational inbuilt and industrinated haatred, brainwashing and derailing children from birth to never reason paractically to always hate and be suspicious of the next mn, to always pick sentiments, emotons, bigotry, tribalism and paranoia over common sense and practicalities.

Now we have a whole region crumbling from within...

This is just too sad..

why are you complaining? Since you want sit at home, the governor has given you enough time to sit at home. Infact if iam the governor I will declare 2wks sit at home.

My friend banks are private businesses, you cant force them to open when they sense they may be exposed to harm especially with the current reality that the government currently does not have the ability to guarantee anyone's safety. Will the state government refund them any loss arising from a possible loot of the banks' vaults ? The answer is NO.

and who told them that the state government will guarantee their safety on Tuesday? The state government know that they cannot guarantee their safety that is why they locked their Bank, so why are they complaining.
You said you cannot trust the government, and the government said ok go back home till further notice. Is that an offense?

Sealing the banks isn't the solution to our problems, rather compounding it. The affairs of the state will be in standby.
