The Kaduna State-based controversial Islamic cleric, Sheik Ahmad Gumi, has visited Igboho town in Oyo State, the home town of Yoruba Nation activist, Sunday Adeyemo, more commonly known as Sunday Igboho.

About 20 days after his Ibadan home was raided by operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS), Adeyemo was arrested in Cotonou, Benin Republic, as he was about travelling to Germany along with his wife.

Sheikh Ahmad Gumi
Igboho who called for Yoruba Nation is being accused of a separatist tendency, and he had been under the searchlight of security operatives.

Gumi was seen in Igboho town alongside with a former Chief Executive Officer of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), Prof Usman Yusuf.

In a video obtained by SaharaReporters, Gumi and Yusuf were seen standing in the front of a Muslim Grammar school sign-board in Modeke-Igboho.

Gumi noted that he has seen nothing to warrant people to agitate that they should be separated from Nigeria.

"Today we have visited this town Igboho, it is a muslim community and we can see some cattle grazing in their court yards.

"This is a place I think Nigerians need to understand that we need to live together. Because I have seen nothing here to warrant people to agitate that they should be separated from our beloved country, Nigeria," the cleric added.

Yusuf added that it was the elites that were dividing Nigeria and not the common people, noting that the common people are the same.

"This is Igboho made famous by a detainee in Benin Republic. Nigeria is one and we will always remain one. The towns we have being to which includes Ilesha, you see churches, you see mosque, you see Fulanis, you see Yorubas all coming together.

"This is Nigeria we grew up in, not poisoned Nigeria. It is the elites that are dividing Nigeria not the common people; the common people are the same. We are here as Nigerians and we will continue to be one."

While I urge the entire Southern Nigeria to be extremely vigilant to stop the terrorism epidemic In Northern Nigeria from being a national pandemic, what we must understand is that terrorism is endemic (always present) in Northern Nigeria but we must be careful not to tag the Fulanis as a criminal tribe, that won't be any sign that southerners are different and humane.

We must keep trying to contain terrorism in the North, the step Southern governors have taken is a little hash but there is just no easier way, I pray that Fulanis take the current quarantine of the North kindly and with maturity.

The fact remains that terrorism is highly infectious especially when there is fertile ground which usually Islam is a spark, Western Nigeria must be extremely at alert, Islam would already provide a suitable environment...We are all together.

The Fulani under Buhari are so bold and brash that they mock your leaders to their faces, this is exactly what Sheik Gumi is doing to the Yoruba now, tomorrow, Buhari would do the same to Igbos as Uzodimma invites him to commission a grazing reserve in Imo state.

Sheikh Gumi just confirmed Tinubu's assertion of Yoruba–Fulani(Yorulani) being one. I hope what happened in Ilorin will not repeat itself in Oyo grin grin

Everyday for the thief one day for the owner.

Gumi as 'John the Baptist' to bandits has come to taunt the South, forgetting that "he who laughs last laughs best."

Ghana kicked killer Fulani herders out with just their police force. But I fear when Nigeria finally does same, it’s going to be a lot bloodier.

Stop being disingenuous and condescending. You are trying to drive a wedge between Fulani and Yoruba, who have lived together in peace for generations.

Fulani reside in Yorubaland in the SW in peace and Yoruba reside in Fulani land in peace, specifically Kwara and many other places in the North.

What you are trying to do is divide tactics, but we can see through them. Enough is enough.

Kwara is not Fulani land try again.

All Fulani are immigrants in Yorubaland including the Yorubaland in Kwara such as Kwara south, Ilorin(Kwara Central). You own nothing and when the time is right, we'll show you the way to your fathers land in the northwest.

In inch of Yorubaland will be lost to bandits and criminal Fulani terrorists.
