u didnt understand my comment before typing epistle. i am not against each state collecting its own taxes. my only issue is that state governments are more corrupt and authoritarian. They will turn it into a tribal thing. I give u 3 months, u will beg govt to revert to status quo

state government is corrupt or not, let them manage their resources, if the people know that the local government and the state is solely responsible for their taxes and resources, they will deal with them, instead of Abuja being in charge. [/s]You must be one of those crook that enjoys this Unitary system of government, tell me on the world, which developed or developing country practice this system where the states or Municipalities waits from monthly allocation from the Central government (FG), why should FGN of Nigeria be giving monthly allocation and you expect those that the bad system of government not to be lazyMoney is generated from one local government area, instead of the money to be reinvested back to that locality and certain % to be paid to the centre, it is the other way round, Abuja takes all the money and share it back in that process corruption sets in. You have no point, if a state is generating money and the people of that state knows that their money is not going to any Abuja, they would hold their state government accountable.
