...as Mike Enyong splashes N6m start-up business grants on indigenes

In re-enforcement of his position that empowerment is the panacea for poverty alleviation in the State, the Member representing Uyo/Uruan/Nsit Atai/Ibesikpo Asutan Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Rt Hon. Michael Enyong has given out another bunch of 1 million naira each to 6 indigenes of the State as start-up business grants.

The grants totalling 6 million naira were presented in cheques to the beneficiaries at the Federal Lawmaker's Uyo Residence, Wednesday.

In his remark at the empowerment event, Enyong otherwise known as Baba Ntan described the gesture as a strong commitment, which he owes his constituents and indigenes of the State at large.

He noted that the recent batch of his "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" empowerment scheme, coming few days after he had distributed 1 million naira respectively to 11 indigenes, is an emergency effort to hit, in no distant time, a target of 300 beneficiaries of the grant.

He promised to leave no stone unturned until hits his target of producing 300 millionaires.

On behalf of the beneficiaries, Akanimo Udofia, lauded the Uyo Federal Lawmaker for the great push given to them in order to ensure they become self-reliant, pledging to make best use of the money.

In the eyes of the masses, Udofia revealed that Enyong is seen as a promise keeper, a true friend of the needy, an unconventional leader and development-oriented lawmaker, praying God to reward him.

Political stakeholders at the event included: Hon. Ita Udombon, former Transition Chairman, Ibesikpo Asutan LG; Mrs Paulina Akpan, PDP Chapter Woman Leader, Uyo LG; Hon. Okon Joshua, former PDP Chapter Chairman, Uyo LG; Hon. Monday Sampson, former Councillor, Nsit Atai LG; Hon.
