Truthissupreme: Yes... That's my state director, We from Adamawa we are all in support of wike's moves. Let every state collect its VAT and remit 0.05% to federal government not the other way round. 2 Likes 1 Share |

The governors will be forced to better the ease of doing business in their States. If you overcharge the businesses without providing good incentives , they'll leave for a state that is better for them to pay their vats 1 Like 1 Share |

When it comes to population and number of Federal government employees, the north is number one. When it comes to taxes and revenue generation. They are last. When it comes to sharing the taxes and revenue generated from other states they want to be part of it. 2 Likes 1 Share |

The truth is most of our states are not viable, if not 95%. We need true fiscal federalism as Nigeria is a federal republic In theory, but not in practice. Many of the injustices , insecurity and other key issues we are crying of today will be addressed with true federalism been practiced. 1 Like 1 Share |

[quote author= post=105648026]Good development. As long as each states utilize the VAT for the development and progress on their people. As long as it won't end in the foreign accounts of politicians in the states. We've talked about ranching many times here. This is how things are done in saner climes. Miyetti Allah need to give the good ones among their members all the re-orientation that things can be done the way it is done in civilized nations. The ONLY constant thing in life is CHANGE. The bill was not meant to attack anybody, but that it was all-embracing. Land resources were very important to the state, adding that the relationship between cattle herders and farmers should be symbiotic. [b]A better Nigeria all around is all we want. God bless Adamawa State. [ Question: HOW did this Miyetti Allah, become so relevant in this unworkable, failed, expired and extinguishing, contraption? |

The importance of states collecting VAT will no doubt strengthen their financial buoyancy and promote the tenets of a true "federation" The present centralized system is an aberration. In a true federation, states ought to be the ones contributing to the Federal Government based on well worked out percentages from resources gotten from individual states. But the paradox of the Nigerian system is that the cart is pulling the horse. States troop to Abuja every month to worship FAAC officials in other to get their allocations. If states are allowed to tap from the available resources within their domain, Nigeria will witness a tremendous improvement across all spheres of life in no distant time. States like Gombe and Katsina are advised to sit-up because the VAT train has already left the station! 2 Likes 1 Share |

Antoeni: Your ignorance on this subject matter is palpable Do you know d volume of industries in Adamawa state?? Its the most industrialised state in d North East. Meanwhile FG have been collecting VAT from all those companies and taking d money to kano Anyway, Gov Fintiri ( neither a Muslim or Christian, lol) is about the best Gov Adamawa have had so far and best performing with zulum in NE. Built the first flyover in NE Nigeria, so he's never a push around, even to Atiku, if u know, u know. He became Gov on his merit, period. Ask urself y is FG silent, simply they r on the wrong foot here. VAT=consumption tax is on the recurrent list and should be controlled by d state. VAT is even originating from 1997 constitution and not 1999. And since 2015, there have been more than 3 judgements on this same matter and all of them have been consistent that states should be controlling VAT. Y this APC govt is fraudulent, is because the likes of Tinubu, Fashola as Gov , criticised and fought with FG on this VAT issue. And promised Nigeria fiscal federalism. Suddenly they are silent in Govt to protect their interest. This fraud have been going on because, anyone who goes to court is asked ur locus on d matter. But here, wike is showing them pepper, because an Attorney general of a state has every right to push for d case. Even the fraudulent FIRS secretly wrote a letter to NA to find a way to smuggle VAT into d exclusive list. But, generally it's only a lazy and unproductive Gov/state that'll oppose this move. That's y d North is calm and humbled. Watch how they'll try and bribe some Southern Govs with money n political position to scuttle d case going to Supreme Court. Even Tanko cannot help them. Simple put, every state and Gov should think outside d box and create a conducive environment for SMEs and businesses. So they can gen VAT in s long run and reduce unemployment. 1 Like 1 Share |
