This write up makes no sense,

The questions appear to imply house officers have funds for training but those funds were usurped by residents and consultants

The same House officers that had their salaries scrapped

But residents have been complaining of no funds for their trainings? The problem is that clinical Doctors are not online to respond to this.ARD needs a dedicated communications unit made of staff they pay...That's quite simple enough, pay them with your nationwide dues and let them bring these issues to you and tell them what to explain to the general public

Yes, Federal Government is about to wield the big hammer on the striking medical doctors if they don't review their decision to call off the strike soonest.
The predicament of the doctors can be likened to the popular saying in our local parlance which says "trouble dey sleep, yanga go wake am." Now 2000 NARD are about to lose their jobs due to illegal employment while others are to face the EFCC for collecting training allowances.
use your brain. Not all professionals loose their job. How can a dr loose his job when all he knows is in his brain. No dr is less important. If all public and private hospitals close down the entire country shuts down.

What the FG said here is very true. However, house officers have no business in this article. They do not receieve medical training allowance. What they meant was residents and not house officers. Most of those who eloped to saudi, uk and other foreign countries prior to 2020 still applied and got the allowance while some of those still present in the country did not get. Even some doctors who had become consultants long before 2020 still fraudulently applied and got. It's even shocking that most of the doctors in saudi still recieve salary till now in Nigeria with the connivance of their various departments and accounts section. It's very unfortunate. The corruption we accuse politicians of is embedded in every fabric of this nation. We as individuals are worse than those in Government.

there is a mistake in the article. House officers dont recieve medical training allowance. They meant residents. So substitute house officer with resident in the article. The article is saying that some residents who had left the country before 2020, who had become consultants before 2020, fraudulent applied for the allowance and got, thereby depriving other residents who were rightfully eligible to get the allowance. This is very true. Even for the yet to be paid 2021 allowance, i know 2 consultants in my department who have no business with the fund, but smuggled their names into the list. Hopefully the screening method used will fish them out.

My point exactly. Professional indeptitude. Was the list not verified before payment?
Firstly, sanction the finance minister and accountant, and everyone else that authorized the payment without diligence.

So government just released money 2 weeks ago for training. When the year is almost running out.
These their claims too bogus.
The doctors are wrong but they are trying to use style to stop the strike.
By the way have they retracted the circular that says that interns shouldn't be paid?

Federal govt just looking for a way to blackmail Drs. Resident Doctors did not employ themselves. It is the govt that did thru the cmds and mds. The Resident Doctors submitted names thru Nard and they never used the names to pay rather they used a list I don't knw hw they made and paid the wrong ppl. If u ask Nard u will be surprised they will give u a correct list that was submitted to the govt in 2020 for payment. For me this is just media war that Ngige is using. Let them do the needful and forget this wars. Fool

Anybody that was paid wrongly and refused to return it should be arrested and jailed. Buh remember, it is the same govt that inserted those names not the Resident Drs thru the cmds. So if they are to arrest, they should start with the minister of health and the ppl incharge, minister of labor and their ppl for not verifying and making payments wrongly. Then go down to the heads of hospital and office of the accountant general and ippis before the Drs that refused to pay back.

I am not understanding, government is talking about two different stages of training. House officers to become Medical officers and Resident doctors to become Consultants. And they are both on different salary scales.
