WOW! I watched that same documentary this morning. what a coincidence.

I think the title of this documentary was telling. the worst part was that silly president giving the chinese  "the key to africa" basically giving them permision to "colonize us."
We really need to restrict these peoples immigration, and limit the importation of their products. That would create jobs and decrease poverty, simple. That is why we are poor we import everything, giving foreigners jobs! There is really an abundance of silly people in africa.

Africans come to China for meager labor and cheap jobs while chinese come to Africa to set up businesses and take over the economy.

The way I see it Africa would be much better of if it severed ALL contact with the outside world.

1. According to some experts Africa has enough arable farmland to feed the entire worlds population if modern agricultural techniques were implemented. She could easily feed her own population today, but some of the best farmland is used to grow crops like tea for export.

2. We import products from foreign countries that we could make domestically and create jobs and eradicate poverty.

3. We have all the natural resources like oil, timber, rubber etc within the continent to be completely self sufficient.

Some people might point out the need for tech, but we have enough educated people to do that also, and technology is not worth 80% poverty just so we can all have cellular phones.

Great Observation!but as we have seen for almost 130 years certain Non - Africans
are hell bent on this not happening. Their Modus Operandi is to keep all african
dependant in a constant state of chaos and poverty.

But all great deception come to an end and the way the 21st century is going
this Great Deception of Impoverishing africa is coming to an End!

^^^ there is a big difference between the africans living and working in Asia and the Chinese living in Africa.
The Africans is Asia often do meager unskilled jobs or crime related bussinesses like drug smuggling or prostitution.
The Chinese in Africa are putting indigenous people out of work, flooding to countries with cheap products and slowly taking over the over the economy. . .

Haha but I agree the title of this doc was unusually blunt.
Re: Chinese Colony In Africa by Amhatu(m): 6:46pm On May 28, 2011
@pleep , please give examples of what you wrote. pleep, you wrote : "The Chinese in Africa are putting indigenous people out of work, flooding to countries with cheap products and slowly taking over the over the economy."
Re: Chinese Colony In Africa by pleep(m): 7:35pm On May 28, 2011
^^^ examples of that are in the video. The Chinese were selling cheap, Low quality shoes imported from china, and the indigenous senagalese shoemakers were put out of work. . .
Re: Chinese Colony In Africa by Amhatu(m): 7:53pm On May 28, 2011
@pleep, the video showed no such example rather person(s) complaining from their on opinion of circumstances. Do you have other examples besides this video?

I am looking for you to give other examples from other African countries besides Senegal since you said : "The Chinese in Africa are putting indigenous people out of work, flooding to countries with cheap products and slowly taking over the over the economy."

That above what you wrote  would imply that you know of other countries in Africa. Please give examples.
Re: Chinese Colony In Africa by pleep(m): 8:59pm On May 28, 2011
^^^ ok fine, Nigeria: Cheap fake Chinese designer clothing; "Gucci" "Lacoste" "chanel" are sold at botiques some of which are Chinese or Indian owned. They put Nigerian textile workers out of business.

You really don't have to look far to find example of this, its a well know phenomenon.
Re: Chinese Colony In Africa by MandingoII(m): 9:05pm On May 29, 2011
Those Chinese have a little money and connections.

The Senagalese government could have FRONTED their people a few dollars and contacted china for those cheap goods.

STOP HATING.

this is a case of African countries not getting their affairs in order and OTHERS from the outside taking advantage of it.

this is no different than what Africans say about African Americans when they come here to America.

deal with it.
Re: Chinese Colony In Africa by pleep(m): 1:25am On May 30, 2011
^^^ what do you think about the Korean domination the black hair industry in the united states? You wanna just "deal with it" or do you want it to stop?

I've almost given up on Africans we are just to easy to exploit grin
Re: Chinese Colony In Africa by MandingoII(m): 6:49pm On May 30, 2011
Good point. poor Black folks will go to the cheapest place to get their goods. The koreans duplicated and stole western ways and sold it back to them cheaper. All those fake gucci and Louie Vitton bags come from Korea. They absolutely will not contract with Black hair industry people. But their hegemony is over.

@pleep , thats no example it is only your excuse to blame others for our failures.

For if the immigrant to Nigeria has applied for permit for Boutique to make clothing or distribute thats their right; ( even if it looks like clothing from elsewhere) and we have no laws in Nigeria to stop them if they have applied for it .

In 1973 the Nigerian textile Industry was facing problems before Asian immigrants even entered Nigeria on a Large scale do to the Financial restructuring of the world at that time.

However this has not destroyed the Nigerien Textile industry. It may have caused us to have competition and decrease in manufacturing the numbers of our Nigerian textiles.

I know of some brothers who import fabric from Côte d'Ivoire; make shirts from them and sell them in Nigeria and all over Africa.

We are responsible for making our on Job and making the rules for our country Nigeria.

Amhatu,

I'm interested in this topic and I'm coming in now because you have used some keywords in your statement to provoke my thoughts.

In the last sentence of last response you said "we". Who is this "we"? What sector of society are you referencing here? Are you referring to the electorate?
Re: Chinese Colony In Africa by Amhatu(m): 9:24pm On May 30, 2011
^^^ ?
Re: Chinese Colony In Africa by NegroNtns(m): 9:35pm On May 30, 2011
It's far more qualitative to obtain your definite clarification than to assume and dead end into wrong conclusions.

So define your "we". You also use the word "rights" elsewhere. That's a heavy word to use in context of African politics.
Re: Chinese Colony In Africa by Amhatu(m): 9:42pm On May 30, 2011
^^^ , You need to read the entire posts from the beginning to understand instead of jumping into a topic further down and assume you understand anything or try to correct my post.
Re: Chinese Colony In Africa by NegroNtns(m): 10:04pm On May 30, 2011
I Did! Nigerian politics is chaotic because it was founded - by design - on chaos!

The "we" you alluded to are the differing stake holders, each with an agenda out of alignment from the center. The chaos cannot be possible without their passionate interest and dis-interests to regain and re-own "endowments" signed off, either under threat of gunfire or sheer deceit of trust, by their fore-fathers to the invaders of the land.

The electorate is a default participant, or a non-participant for that matter, in a country where more than half of its independent years were under martial rulers called "The Supreme Military Council".

The proper attributes for remedying the subject matter of this topic would be a transformation for self-sufficiency, in deeds, not just in words.

As already outlined elsewhere in the thread, Africa is endowingly self-sufficient. To actualize and align with its prosperity, the children of Africa need two things,

1. Discipline within
2. Temporarily Wall-off the outside world and repair the chaotic churn.
Re: Chinese Colony In Africa by Amhatu(m): 10:33pm On May 30, 2011
^^^ Like pleep you have various opinions to the actual interpretations.

We are talking about The Topic posted by [ akanke79
(f)] that the Aljazeera reporter did.

Regardless of your opinion of The Nigerian electorate, Former Supreme Military Council or possible other.

The bottom line is Chinese in Africa are not putting indigenous people out of work in Africa.

No where on the video is this explained or shown it is all Propaganda with a fictitious Title.
Re: Chinese Colony In Africa by NegroNtns(m): 1:08am On May 31, 2011
The bottom line is Chinese in Africa are not putting indigenous people out of work in Africa.
They don't need to! The Chinese expatriates did not wake up one morning and decided to emigrate to Africa. Africans emigrate, not Chinese! So why are they here in large population?

They were brought in by virtue of trade treaties. The treaty guarantees that they - the Chinese- will be at the decision making nodes of the operational heirarchy. When you attach such conditions to the treaty then you put indigenes at subservient level of the feed. So if you have an infrastructure project that recruits 1000 people and the top 250 are foreigners, then that's 250 indigenes that are without job. So the presence of the Chinese in our indigenous labor market creates competition and when they are making the hiring and firing decisions, you know well enough they are not going to fire their own people for our black ass, they are Chinese, not blacks! Blacks will fire one another -on their own land- for a foreigner sake.
No where on the video is this explained or shown it is all Propaganda with a fictitious Title.
Knowledge is composed of three dynamics,

1. The letter or literal - that which is seen, visible or materially substantiated.

2. The spirit of knowledge, also called "enlightenement". That which presents itself as a self-evident truth and supported credibly by other self-evident truths.

3. Then there is knowledge as wisdom. That which is inspired truth or spoken out of experienced truth.

Your response is at the literal level of things, you are waiting to see. The evidence is hidden from you to blur your knowledge.

Only the wise and the enlightened know. Advance your knowledge.

If all it takes for you to believe anything is evidence, then guess what, foreigners will come in and steal from you, all the while hiding the evidence from you.
