They can use Mexican/Escobar drug lord as a topic in America and Mexican won't feel any sadness. They can use American gangster as a topic and American won't feel sad about that. I am not advocating for scam cos I detest scam in all level but nothing here makes me sad about the topic.. you can use American as a case study for gangsters/Drug abuse and drug dealers. All are federal crime!!!

So? What's the big deal in that? Islamic terrorism is also taught in schools in the US. Same with homosexuality and atheism. It's called education not judgment. Aargh!! Nigerians

This is why we must condemn crime in all entirety, especially when people bring up excuses of government is the reason, our leaders are the cause, and this and that. Just for the reasons to hold onto their crime.
No government or leader can make me or lead me to criminality, especially after leaving the shores of Nigeria. Most NIGERIANS after leaving the shores of Nigeria are still engaging in crimes, in this case, it's not about NIGERIA again. But their criminal natural tendencies.

I can never make excuses for criminality. Crime is crime

The "Nigerian" scam has been listed for years now to make folks more aware and to be cautious.
I've seen it many times.
I think the listing is centered more around the "419" prince email scam.
What needs to be highlighted more is the "romance" scam (that's even more dangerous)....the listing/definitions of the scam should be changed.
It's sad that the majority of wonderful, hardworking, law-abiding Nigerians in the U.S. have to be "type-casted" and pre-judged because of a treacherous, immoral, and unethical minority.

Good for you!

Your generation glorify internet fraudsters and treat them as kings then you have the nerve to be sad that they are being profiled.

Fix your rotten mentality first before you muster the audacity to cry.

Next to be profiled will be Nigerian pornstars because they are fast overtaking American pornstars.

Nonsense.
U need to be put in battle field in sambisa forest. So that u can be useful to Nigeria

I don't know why this is funny to me sha.

Imagine what's going on in the minds of your fellow classmates. They'll never look at you the same way again ever.

This problem will disappear when there's no longer a country called Nigeria.

Are you saying scams will disappear when there's no longer a country called Nigeria?

Isn’t this like saying stupidity will disappear when you die?

Read to understand and not to reply. Nigeria is known for scams. With new country names, everyone can start afresh.

Isn’t this like saying stupidity will disappear when you die?

I defer to your superior firsthand knowledge in this case.

One thing I like about the white man is, although many of his kind are stupid, they take it upon themselves to educate each other on how to stay guarded regarding dangers. The black man always hides such information for him and his family -- many times hiding it from them even till the point of death.

The issue of Nigerian being called a scammer headquarters of the world should not be a surprise to you.l was about to buy a car from a German in Hamburg many years ago. While l was in his house discussing,he asked me where in Africa is my country. I told him NIGERIA. Hmm,he responded, please do not come here again. Whereas he had earlier promised to have a kind of interactive time with me.Such is the shame we inherited from the evil bedeviled our Nation. May God deliver us.

What they don't want you to know is India has the highest number of youth in the world, India also has the highest number of scammers in the world... Followed by China then Russia. But trust the black man, he is quick to sell his brothers out for a mirror and few shillings.

You can't blame them.
These countries are actually known for something good. China.. advanced technology, Russia.. the US are generally weary about them(you can see how they're stereotyped in their movies) but still they're one of the most renowned countries on earth. Indians have one of the most brilliant people on earth and have impacted alot both from their books and youtube videos. Most times Nigeria pop in the news, it's usually negative.
Nigerians are stereotyped in almost every country, in Dubai, in UAE, in South Africa, in USA, in China, in Malaysia, in Thailand. We need to start doing the right thing and stop glorifying people who will bring shame to our name.
People openly defend yahoo boys in this country, asking us to focus on the government.

This guy na fool. I'm not surprised, he just dey chase clout ni.
So because I'm From Nigerian and my country people does scams, they'll want to treat me differently? They have their vices too and it'll be hypocritical to do so.

If I were there, I won't give two fuvcks. Nigeria is just popular, we don't even come close to north Korea or Russia, china, romania in internet scams.

Why don't the teacher talk about how their government introduced crack kokaine in the 80's or how the US sponsors terrorism. Or how the US destabilize countries. Talk about problems in their country, gun violence in the south, NRA amongst others.

They'll always look for the low hanging fruit. Mtchewww.

The guy is not just a phool but a very weak minded person.

Firstly, he wanted us to know he's in California studying computer science Lol

Secondly, he's trying to act moral; a balless hypocrite.

He's acting like he's just knowing that crime(scam) in Nigeria is like a child's play compared to what's happening over there.

it won't surprise me if he's a yahoo boy sef

Verdict: A ballless hypocrite chasing clout

Spits!!!

You ignored my first admonition to you.

READ TO UNDERSTAND and not to argue blindly.

America is known to be the first nation to put a man on the moon.

America is known as the foremost Democratic country in the world, land of the free and home of the brave.

America is the police of the world.

The currency of the US is used as a benchmark for other currencies across the globe.

America produces cars and other technologies

Among many other achievements.

But here you are comparing Nigeria and America.

Go ahead and tell us why you are so proud of Nigeria that you think they don't need to start over?

What achievements is Nigeria known for?

I'd like to know.

America is known for racism, scumbaggery and cowardliness

Seriously? That's your best argument? Scumbaggery? You make me laugh.

Yet if they give you a visa to the US today you'll forget about scumbaggery abi?

Generally Speaking, The Nigerian Scam has affected me negatively in the past, once upon a time,
I was getting international freelance job almost everyday, making my cool legit dollars...
I was good at what I was doing, nobody knew where i was from cos nobody asked.

until one day, the platform decided that all users must put their country in the profile,
I put Nigeria like this...

Nobody was giving me gig anymore... I got to find out people are scared of interacting with Nigerians
for fear of being scammed. angry angry angry
