As someone who has roots in the creeks, the soup we are talking about here is held in high regards.
This particular soup is known to consume lots of red palm oil but all I am seeing here is a mini jacuzzi filled with aqua.

This is a disgrace to the identity and integrity of this highly reverred soup. The OP is an Afonja, no wonder the soup is flowing with rivers of living water.

Aunty, your edikaikon is too dry.

You need water for Afang otherwise the ingredients will not incorporate very well. Otherwise, it will be dry and fried. The good thing is, afang will absorb the water and become moist instead of watery.

When I say no water, I mean, the water shouldn’t be flowing and asides the stock, there is really no need to add any more water. Afang and edikan ikong should not have water flowing in them. The oil and stock gives enough moisture!!!
