ALLOW REGIONS TO GO.

IT IS IN THE UNITED NATION CHARTER.

WHY IS POLITICAL LEADERS IN NIGERIA AGAINST SECESSION?

Let institutions for referendum be enshrined in Nigeria 's constitution to enable disasitfied region to seek for self determaination.

FORCING REGIONS TO BELONG AGAINST THEIR WILL IS NOT THE BEST WAY TO GO ABOUT IT.

GBAJA AND PETER OBI KNOWS THE TRUTH.

Secession is not the solution to the problems we have in Nigeria. In fact,we will have the issues confronting Nigeria at a bigger rate should our regions decide separate from our togetherness.Who are the people antagonising this country? Will the secession of the country cease their existence?

For those who can’t read. Below is what Peter Obi actually said.

“Obi said the country cannot stay united unless there was equity and justice. According to him, Nigeria has about 250 ethic groups , which is far below that of India with over 2,000 ethnic groups and Indonesia with 1,300 ethnic groups adding that both countries were doing far better than Nigeria
You cannot stay united when there is injustice; we cannot stay united if you don’t allow people to operate on a level playing field. If Nigeria was a productive country, our diversity could have been a source of strength but we are a sharing country’.

“Our country is not a productive country but a country of consumption and sharing. Once it is a sharing economy, it becomes difficult to be united because everybody wants to be part of the sharing,’’ he said.’

I quite agree with them but high time everyone start bearing their father's name...
Give us;
*State Police
*Absolute resource control
*States collect their various taxes and remit certain percentage to federal.

This way, governance is closer to the people and our lazy governors would not have the audacity to point fingers to the president.
Any governor do anyhow, him go see anyhow from his people.

We the masses of Nigeria are tired of you elite's mismanagement of our economy all of you are the same and have made the masses your enemies, you have sworn to make sure that the masses do not benefit anything from their God given resources, instead for 60 years, you have refused to provide constant electricity, good road networks, pipe born water, Health care and sound economy to the masses. All you do is to play politics of the zoo of monkeys jumping from tree to tree: changing parties like diapers just to make sure you get a sloth of the national cake, we are tired and want to divide, there's no hope for common man in your devilish schemes, other countries blessed with crude oil are better off, like your counterparts in the middle east and elsewhere. Why have you people decided to be this wicked to the entire masses of Nigeria both North and South? We will not vote in 2023, any person that comes out to vote for you people in 2023 is an idiot and will never learn. We need a total overhaul of he system, either restructuring, fiscal federalism or all will go its separate ways, anything apart from this, we are not interested
You can fool some people sometimes but you will not fool them all the time. Time has come for us to take our destinies in our hands, you are all evil

Intently most people are not interested in the geographical balkanization of the country.

All the agitation for separation and social tension are products of perceived injustice, unending deprivation, lack of opportunities in the face of plenty, outright oppression by the ruling elites, inequality among peers within the same country etc.

Some of us are still hopeful and optimistic about the country knowing fully well that even in secession the ruling corrupt elites will still be in charge.

By the time states collect VAT, we have state police, ban on open grazing and states control their resources and pay tax to the fed government on it. This country will be like America (at least the southern part grin)

AntiBMC:
Only Peter Obi made sense. The rest were just talking rvbbish.

Gbajabiamila took part in the sharing of millions of dollars bribe to pass the PIB bill. He also took a huge chunk of the Bill Gates Bribe to pass a bill for forceful vaccination.

For every sitting in the house, they go home with large amounts of money just for sitting. Not to talk of the huge salaries he and other reps members collect. Aside the salaries, they all take over ₦8.5m monthly as "office running cost"

Should we start talking about other benefits like pension plans, medical benefits, security benefits etc

In essence, Gbajabiamila and every other rep or senator talking about keeping Nigeria one, are the people feeding fat from the corruption. Benefiting hugely from the system. An ordinary nigerian knows that what the country needs is division...and sooner than later, it will happen.

Because the will of the people is much more than that of the political few who have private jets, ready to jet off to another country when the chaos resulting from the forced union starts.

I tell you Obi is an intelligent breed
I wish we can make him president in all honesty

Will vote atiku/obi ticket over Tinubu presidency 10 times

THE CITIZENS OF NIGERIA CAN CONDUCT A REFERENDUM FOR THEMSELVES WITHOUT THE DIRECT KNOWLEDGE OF INEC...
BUT THE INEC’S VOTERS CARD IS VERY NECESSARY BEFORE SUCH A REFERENDUM CAN WORK OUT.

..
..
..
BEFORE I BEGIN TO EXPLAIN FURTHER, LET ME MAKE SOME THINGS VERY VERY CLEAR TO EVERYONE THAT IS READING THIS..
..
1. The Current Nigerian Constitution allowed for Referendums Only when there is need to create a new State or a new LGA, or when there is need to adjust the existing boundaries of States or LGAs, or when there is need recall a member of the National Assembly or State Assembly by the Constituents of the Representative.

2. According to the Current Nigerian Constitution, for a Referendum to be conducted, the National Assembly or the State Assembly (as the case may be) must raise the motion for which the Referendum is required, and then call for a Referendum to be conducted by the INEC.

3. The INEC should conduct the Referendum within the stipulated time-frame, and the Simple Majority wins in such Referendums.

4. Only Nigerian Citizens who have Valid INEC-Issued Permanent Voter's Card can vote in a Referendum, since INEC is the only recognised umpire for Referendums.

5. The National Assembly or the State Assembly (as the case may be), can now make people-guided decisions based on the result of the Referendum.
..
..
Meanwhile, the Referendum which most Citizens are demanding for, is a VOTE for the people to decide whether they still want to be a part of the Bigger Nigeria.. But this type of Referendum definitely has no place in the Current Nigerian Constitution..
(There are no two ways about that in the direct sense of it.)
..
But then, since the INEC cannot directly conduct a Referendum for the people, the people can still come out and create an indirect way to conduct a Referendum for themselves, which would pass a very strong message to the tyrants, and also spread our message across to the whole world that we rejected our current tyrant leaders including those stooges they are planning to impose on us.
..
HOW CAN THIS BE DONE??
..
This can be achieved through proper enlightenment of the people in order to deeply understand the demands of the Current Nigerian Constitution, and also on proper Voters Education of the people, so that they can know they powers they possess whenever they come out to vote.
..
The Current Nigerian Constitution gave us a big clue to how we can conduct an Indirect Referendum.
The Section-134; Subsection-2(b) of the Nigerian Constitution says it all.
..
I will explain this section better.
Voided Votes, otherwise knows as Rejected Votes, are also counted as votes, just that they are not valid votes, but they are also counted as part of the TOTAL VOTES CAST.
If a presidential candidate wins in an election, but the voided/rejected votes are too many in such a way that the voided/rejected votes overshadowed his votes in a lot of States, then HE CANNOT BE RETURNED AS THE WINNER OF THAT ELECTION.
This Simply Means that the people in such states rejected every single body that is contesting for that election..

..
(The Section-134; Subsection-2(b) of the Nigerian Constitution states that “the Candidate must have ONE-QUARTER of ALL the votes cast in at least TWO-THIRDS of all the Local Government In the State”.... It didn't refer to only the Valid Votes, but to ALL the Votes Cast, which also includes the voided/rejected votes)
..
With such a Protest-Voting, and without the Usual Electoral Malpractice in Nigeria, the message could be heard loud and clear.
..
Sitting-at-home on an election day cannot pass such a strong message, because those ones who did not vote cannot cause an election to be voided.

Indeed. I think every concession we can unite and work hard to get the FG to grant, say for example State policing, moves us closer to a fairer and more progressive Nigeria that works better for more Nigerians.

In the end, hopefully, we should eventually gain a nation that works well for most Nigerians.

We all have to support and partner with progressive leaders to move Nigeria forward. The biggest challenge remains our federal legislators who remain firmly in the pocket of the executive arm.
