There is no way Nigeria as a country will no break up if things continue the way it is now . One generation will rise up and that will be the end of Nigeria . This is sooner than most people think . Funny enough , the northern elite will bear the brunt of the wrath of their own people when it happens .

As an Igbo business man, I don't care who is president so long as basic human needs are meet, Great Healthcare, infrastructure, social amenities, rule of law and a booming economy that my business will flourish in. So long as all this are obtainable in Nigeria, the presidency can from Niger, Mali or Chad and I won't be bothered.

The skewed and lopsided political structure of 20 states in the old ONE northern region but only 17 states in the TWO old southern regions is a guarantee that north must continue to rule Nigeria until north says it’s okay, let the south rule.

Southern military leaders were asleep when northern military dictators wrongly used land mass or population as criterion to proliferate too many states in the north.

There should have been more states in the 2 old southern regions than in the old one northern region.

I clearly see interpolations and insertions in the words of Dr Hakeen Of the Northerner elders forum...

Why must you lie and deceive to please your guilible sheeps here?

His words were clear open minded and in no way disregard any tribe or part of the country....

Thats how matured northers Act!

But because of d satanic nature of you guys u tend to view things frm a very wrong perspective!

Anyway d truth be told d more you react d more we understand your true nature and allow you rant like mad dogs while we deal with you...

Every wondered why nobody takes you serious online?

No genuine Northerner will waste his time on you dogs here

“Why does anybody need to threaten us and intimidate us? We will get that power but be humble because power comes from God....been honest is not being stupid...." Tjats what he said but they chip in inherited to cause provocation

Anyway we shall see!

Hausa/Fulani academics & scholars! Are matured and careful...
They don't open their mouths anyhow in petty ITK 'foolish wiseness of the agricultural fowl' if i may borrow Zebrudaya's patented lines.

When they speak or write, it's mostly in calculated response to misconstrued perceptions, provide additional lights on national issues or to state their own side of the story.
And when you read or hear them, you will read knowledge, wisdom & invaluable insights.

But you see the academics & scholars from the South & some part of the Middle Belt.
They have opinions on every issue no matter how trivial.
When you read them, you can't mistake the bigotry, concieted arrogance & incitement to foolishness to their people hidden openly in their mischief they call opinion.
Yet, the South wonder aloud why with all thier vaunted intelligence, they are nowhere near the North in cohesiveness, aggregation of ideas, effective planning & organization.

Shame on you NL

At the FEC, National Council of States, at the NASS, at the civil service, at the military service, etc, north draws undue political over representation from its large number of states. Thus, north decides what can be in Nigeria irrespective of who is president.

Only a historian would have knowledge of self to the point of taking Akintoye's position openly without fear. Or unless someone acquired knowledge of self through other means. Once you understand who you're as an African, you'll never want to participate in anything our ancestors didn't create.

bombing everyday in your region, kidnapping of students and pupil are on the rise, alimajiri keep rising yet Northerners act mature? what sort of setback maturity is that one

Yoruba muslims sees it differently. They are like a butterfly that thinks himself a bird

To them once they bear a muslim name and attend mosque the fulanis will take them as one of their own

It is only a fool that will not know the fulanis are out to conquer his region under the guise of giving him Islam

Bleep fulanis!

These Northerners are getting so cocky. Dem head don dey big so. But let’s always remember, pride goes before a fall. Nothing lasts forever. One day somehow, all of these foolishness will surely end.

Gideon Orkar was right back then to say: We wish to emphasize that this is not just another coup but a well-conceived, planned and executed revolution for the marginalized, oppressed and enslaved peoples of the Middle Belt and the South with a view to freeing ourselves and children yet unborn from eternal slavery and colonisation by a clique of this country.

Our history is replete with numerous and uncontrollable instances of callous and insensitive dominatory repressive intrigues by those who think it is their birthright to dominate till eternity the political and economic privileges of this great country to the exclusion of the people of the Middle Belt and the south.

They have almost succeeded in subjugating the Middle Belt and making them voiceless and now extending same to the south.

How brilliant and visionary. Soon and surely soon there will be another Gideon Orkar who will eventually free the South and MB from the clutches of these demonic forces.

HigherEd:
They enjoy numerical strength because we haven't started thinking down south.

The south must unite as a single political bloc and entice the vastly north central.

All we need down south to win any election is to secure 90% votes down south and 55% in North Central.

Nigeria's power lies in the north central. The agenda of any southern president or party must be to rapidly denorthernise the north central. This is possible because it is isn't necessarily a fulani or hausa enclave.

1) Form a resilient southern bloc
2) Aggressively court the North Central and integrate them into a southern agenda.
3) Play the religious divide with wisdom. Don't let the north west use Islam to shatter a southern bloc.

And you have your power. Ensure anytime south or NC has power ensure the north west is dealt with in the same proportion the south was excluded during a northern presidency.

Lalasticlala
You think you are genius by bringing up these points? Awolowo of old had tried all of them yet the North still dictates till date.

Nigeria lost it after the civil war, that if successful, would set the beginning of a true civilisation built on African ingenuity. Sadly, the docility and complacency of other regions during the war have left the monster (the North) grow so big, that it seems near impossible to tame.

The price you pay for delay is that you get weaker, while the monster restrategise and gets stronger. The battle was difficult yesterday, today it is hard, but tomorrow, it will be near impossible. The plight of southern Nigeria in a nutshell.
