The massive profits that medical cannabis creates will eventually win over even the most conservative minds, so that legalization will come to pass before long in Nigeria, just as is the case in Ghana, Lesotho, South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Uganda, Morocco, Malawi, and Rwanda.

Now that cannabis dealers in Nigeria are adding poisonous chemicals like PCP, methamphetamine, and fentanyl to cannabis, they are giving the otherwise beneficial plant a terrible reputation as a deadly drug, and in so doing, are destroying the chances of the plant ever being legalized in Nigeria.

Come to think of it, criminal cannabis dealers have a strong financial incentive to make damn sure that the cannabis plant is NEVER legalized because such decriminalization would put an end to the era of massive profits being reaped by those outlaws who sell weed at vastly inflated prices due to the current prohibition laws that penalize cultivation and use of weed so heavily.

There is no more effective way to demonize cannabis than to contaminate weed with deadly chemicals, rename that toxified weed as "Colorado", Arizona" or some such idiotic label, and then sell that poison-tainted product to the public, who will then post youtube videos showing the terrifying and dramatic effects of those added poisons.
what does Colorado actually contain ? The after effects are quite scary and also Arizona. Thanks

Most likely, so-called "Colorado" is a code word for the poisoning of cannabis with PCP, a powerful animal tranquilizer, or methamphetamine, a highly addictive stimulant well known to cause instant madness and wild, erratic behavior. Anyone who buys weed in Nigeria currently stands a very high risk of falling victim to these types of deliberate poisonings that are perpetrated by marijuana dealers for reasons known to them.

NDLEA and the Nigerian authorities should wake up and stop being sentimental about cannabis's medical use.

Even though they think it is illegal, cannabis is as available as water in Nigeria. You only need to ask the right person.

Depriving medical use of cannabis base on tendency for abuse by ordinary people hold no water. It is readily available everywhere and can easily be purchased.

You got that right. Alcohol is legal to consume, yet has zero medical application, and is responsible for overdose and drunk driver deaths that run into the thousands annually. Cigarettes are pure poison with no medical benefit at all, yet are legal for those who wish to kill themselves with nicotine poisoning.

Ironically, marijuana in its pure form with no added chemical poisons has never once in recorded medical history caused one single overdose death, while also delivering numerous medical benefits, yet continues to be demonized by hypocritical lawmakers who are often closet weed consumers themselves, and who thus far have kept cannabis illegal for no rational reason.

Lawmaker Princess Onuoha of Okigwe North is the author of the Nigerian Cannabis Control Bill of 2020, which aims to decriminalize medical marijuana in Nigeria. Sadly, that enlightened and brave Amazon warrior woman stands virtually alone in her legitimate quest for legislative sanity in Nigeria.

Ondo State Governor "Aki" Akeredolu is the only other political figure who has consistently espoused the medical and economic benefits of legalized medical marijuana. One can only hope that other timid Nigerian politicians will set aside their fears, and join the side of rational thinking exemplified by Princess Onuoha and Governor Akeredolu.

That is why I will try and keep this thread active and constantly update it with much more educational content.

Did you notice the other thread about recent NDLEA response to use of cannabis? I think that may be part of effect of a thread like this one.

These highly informative and scientifically objective video clips will enable Nigeria's lawmakers to gain the insight needed for them to throw their support behind the establishment of a fully legalized and state-regulated medical cannabis industry that will earn the nation billions of dollars in tax revenue at all levels of government while creating a whole new generation of private canna-billionaires in Nigeria.

With time, one sincerely hopes that the enlightenment campaign by Okigwe North Lawmaker Princess Onuoha and Ondo State Governor Akeredolu, an erudite SAN Barrister at Law, towards helping Nigerian legislators comprehend the gigantic economic potential of a cannabis industry, will bear fruit such that the destructive prohibition of marijuana can mercifully fade into the history books, ushering in a new era of canna-prosperity for Nigeria.

For the religous minded;

Cannnabis has nothing to do with religion. It is a natural plant believed to be created by God.

And all plant are given to us for medicine. Everything is given for a purpose.

The use may be regulated though with proper citizen orientation about the side effects

Is cocaine also created by God?
Re: Cannabis: Nigeria To Legalise Marijuana (Definitely Must Watch Videos) by Jakumo(m): 10:55am On Oct 12, 2021
Victerica:

Is cocaine also created by God?

Cocaine is created by Satan, and produced using highly toxic chemicals that are mixed in secret jungle laboratories in Peru and Colombia. The resulting powder is capable of killing a human being the very first time they try it, by a heart attack, a massive stroke, or grand mal seizures.

The raw coca leaves that are used in that diabolical laboratory process, have been plucked from small family gardens and chewed by indigenous tribespeople of South America for generations, as an appetite suppressant and a preventative against altitude sickness for mountain dwellers, all with few side effects.

It is when the coca leaves are processed to yield cocaine hydrochloride powder, using inconsistent laboratory procedures and chemical reagents of dubious origin, that the resultant powder becomes highly dangerous and even deadly to ingest.

An analogy can certainly be drawn between purified cocaine powder and marijuana that has been adulterated or spiked with deadly chemicals like PCP, methamphetamine, cocaine, or other insidious poisons. That deliberately contaminated weed, known in Nigeria as "Colorado", "Arizona", or "SK" is very bad news indeed, and cannot be called a natural product since it contains a number of chemical poisons capable of causing madness or death in a short time.

By legalizing the production of marijuana, Nigeria's NAFDAC can then be tasked with analyzing the cannabis produced by authorized growing facilities, so as to identify and seize any of the harvests found to be tainted with poison, as is the case so frequently today in the total absence of any regulatory body, on account of the plant's illegality.

Over the years cocaine has killed millions of users worldwide, from hardened addicts to first-time experimenters.

Cocaine cannot, will not, and should not ever be legalized. It is a terrible drug with real and devastating effects on the human body.

Cocaine is highly addictive, and those trapped in its grip will gladly kill their own mothers to finance a one-day supply of that deadly drug.

Comparing cocaine to marijuana is like equating a child's water pistol with a military-grade machine gun.

I don't think so. I'm advocating for cannabis legality because its health benefits far more outweight its percieved disadvantage. My focus is not to compare it with any other human made chemical.

They like twisting the relics. We did not request legalisation for personal consumption but for medical purpose.

They are only wasting the last minute on idea whose time has come.

Here is the news

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on Thursday said legalization of consumption of cannabis will take Nigeria back to it’s dark days.

Brig.-Gen. Buba Marwa (rtd), the Chairman and Chief Executive of the agency, said this at an interactive session with heads of security agencies, Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) and heads of government agencies in Jos, Plateau as he rejected the calls for Cannabis legalization.

Some Nigerians have been advocating for the legalisation of the drug for health and economy purposes.

But Marwa said that legalising cannabis would truncate its ongoing fight against drug abuse, stressing that such a move would also take Nigeria back to its dark days.

He revealed that 10.6 Nigerians were currently consuming cannabis, adding that legalising it would further destroy the nation.

“NDLEA rejects absolutely the call for the legalisation of cannabis; it is a choice between earning money and the importance of life

“There is no research about the healing qualities of cannabis, but we all know on the other hand that it causes brain disorder, psychosis, it destroys the lungs and other key organs of the body.

” It definitely affects one’s behaviour as well.

“NDLEA will not accept that; we in NDLEA reject the move in totality,” he noted.

The NDLEA boss admonished security agencies and other stakeholders to support the agency in its bid to curb the tide of drug abuse in the nation.

Cannabis is banned in Nigeria, but the country is the main source of cannabis grown in West Africa and ranks third in the world in cannabis consumption. Cannabis is widely grown in the states of Nigeria, including Lagos State, Edo State, Delta State, Osun State, Oyo State, Ogun State. In America, cannabis is fully legalized in some states, in some states only for medicinal purposes. Personally, I use it only for medicinal purposes and purchase it with the Medical Marijuana Card California.

Oga Ayo, please mark me present today for the continuation of this important topic. The stand taken by Nigeria's NDLEA against marijuana, and their attempt to equate cannabis with REAL Class A drugs like heroin or cocaine, is all about that money, specifically, the budget allocations shared by officials at the top of that organization.

The only segments of any society that profit from the prohibition of medical marijuana are drug enforcement agencies like Nigeria's NDLEA on one hand, and the criminal gangs on the other hand, that sell chemically poisoned cannabis which is indeed capable of causing madness or death.

With multi-million dollar cannabis production tax revenue accruing to African governments in Uganda, Malawi, Lesotho, Zambia, South Africa, and now even Ghana, it is only a matter of time before Nigeria ends the prohibition of cannabis so as to regulate and monetize its industry to maximize annual profit figures for both the private and public sector.
