There is this popular misconception about Nigeria being colonized by the British however, the premise of this argument is false. Nigeria was never colonized. In fact Nigeria never existed before the British arrived.
What the British actually colonized were Empires e.g Hausa, Benin, Opobo, Calabar, Yoruba etc. Nigeria is a British creation. After they (the British) successfully colonized those empires the next step was amalgamation, and then a republic , there after a federation.

If you say you want to divide or restructure the country what you are actually saying is that you want to destroy a British creation
They sponsored the 1967 civil war by giving the north superior fire power, food and education while starving the east of the same privileges. They also influenced the war by disseminating false information through the media.

What the country is facing is called neocolonialism which can be defeated through education (not western education) and technological advancement. Osogbo weed is not good for your health. But on a more serious note, you have a strong argument with this opinion. Nigeria never existed before the coming of the British. Looking at it from another angle, the empires made up Nigeria and they were in existence before the invasion of the colony, therefore, remotely, one can say colonialism took place.
