Those politician’s hoping for power to shift to the south is day dreaming, the nothern elites and politicians never wants power to leave their corridors, it’s a shame we still force ourselves together as a country when there’s no unity.

On VAT, I agree only with the part of the resolution calling for all parties to stay action till the matter is decided by the Supreme Court. VAT is a consumption tax and should never be a federal tax in the first place. However, we should all wait for the final judgement so as to avoid confusion in the system.

On open grazing, it remained banned in southern Nigeria. Livestock whatever is none of our business. Anybody that wants to go into cattle business should set up a ranch. It is as simple as that.

This VAT thing is really confusing people..
VAT means value added tax from sales tax.
VAT should only be applicable to firms that add values to an existing products or services.
So the notion of saying states will make VAT more cumbersome....
A trailer transporting goods from lagos to aba shouldnt pay VAT...
If someone buys jeans trouser in a shop in Lagos and takes it to his shop in aba, he can or cannot pay VAT...eateries pay VAT cos value is added to every services and products sales...
Let sensible people not allow few idiots to compound and make this VAT thing look as if it will increase prices of goods and services.
U can't pay VAT when u enter oshodi market and buy foodstuffs, but if u go to shoprite or any shopping mall to buy the same foodstuffs u must pay VAT.

I have read through most of the comments here on this issue, yet I found yours to be more reasonable for my engagement.

If we all should be fair on this,we'll agree that the national pulses and appeal is for power to return to the south.
However the public grandstanding of the southern Governors on the issue is uncalled for and divisive. It's unwise to be making a demand and threat for a popular opinion.

The position of the SGF in a bid to appeased their constituents who are majorly disposed to power shift has created animosity than sympathy in the other sides of the divide.
We are in Democracy and it demands consultation, consolidation and consensus rather altering threat or demand.

I just have one question for you ...if rotational presidency is not constitutional , and we believe it can serve as stabilizing factor ...why can't we then enshrine it in the constitution? Does our constitution forbids anything that brings unity ? What is the duties if our law maker if they cannot make simple laws that will keep this country United .

Truth be told, we can’t put everything in the constitution at a time. With recent development however, I also think the constitution should be amended to legalize rotational presidency. We need it to strengthen our unity and avoid domination.
