Quick test to see if exhaust gasses can exit the combustion chamber instantly via the Catalytic converters.

This test can be applied to almost any vehicle.

In testing fuel pressure.
Note that expected fuel pressure values differ across vehicles. Also instant pressure and pressures after running pump for hours might differ.

This should only be done only after proper diagnosis.

Finally if you notice vehicle becomes Sluggish when driving DO NOT PUSH HARD ON THE THROTTLE, drive slow and easy.

Happy viewing .

Why do most catalytic converters fail in Nigeria?

First off very bad fuel. Our octane levels fall below manufacturer required ratings.

Next is very bad habits. Driving with a check engine light on that could be a misfire, or lean or rich mixture warning would end up clogging up that catalytic converter.

Finally some vehicles tend to be super sensitive to bad fuel and abuse, E.g the Hondas, the Ford's, the mercerdes. These are very unforgiven cars. Their catalytic converters clogg up real quick when exposed to abuse.

what to do when you have been diagnosed with a failing/blocked catalyst?

Replace or gut the catalyst.

Gutting the catalyst means taking out the contents and leaving it empty.

At this point pls note your catalyst is still valuable even if it is blocked. Ensure you bag it up and take it with you grin

You could make as much as ₦30,000-₦150,000 on those defective catalytic converters wink

In this economic times be smart

Gazzuzz to the world. Nice advice bro.
I'll like to advice that you don't use recognized songs as background for your YouTube videos. Many of your videos will get flagged for copyright infringement and it will also affect your adsense approval later if you want to monetize your videos

First you clean your catalytic converter container before using this. This is only an attempt to deceive your ECU so it won't throw up O2 sensor warning and bring up check engine light. It works in some cars, doesn't work in some. It didn't work in my 2012 Acura TL but it worked in my wife's 2008 Lexus Es350

It contains platinum which is a very expensive metal, almost as expensive as gold. Many mechanics dey even steal catalytic converters.

Taking out or gutting the catalyst gives room for the check engine light to be permanently on, cost of replacement is on high side that's why motorists tend to ignore it and drive the vehicle, what else can be done in this situation please.
