If you are someone whose job demands you get glued to your office computer, gadgets or you are a phone addict, chances are you are likely to develop a serious eye problem (cataract) in the nearest future which might lead to loss of sight (God forbid).


The truth is these gadgets (phones, laptops,desktops, TV, etc) we use daily both in our work places and homes, all emit blue light which is harmful when exposed too much to the eyes.

I have a friend who works in a bank. He goes to work and comes back late in the evening. You know how stressful the banking job is. He always comes back complaining of constant headache, dry, strained eyes.
He would just take normal pain killers and call it a day but there was one morning he woke up to prepare for work, guess what? He had a blurry vision. He couldn't see clearly. That day was like the end of his sight because he has never experienced such in his life, according to him. Did I forget to say his eyes where also red and itchy.

We made arrangement to see an ophthalmologist (doctor for the eye). Doc asked him some few professional questions and examined him. It was later known that his retina was exposed for long on computer emitting blue light.

Doc gave him eye drops and some drugs to clear his reddish and itchy eyes. He was recommended to take high carotenoid foods as it would help him regain his full eyes functionality. However, a blue light blocking glasses was also recommended for him to use in his workplace as it would help protect his eyes from such blue light emitting from his computer.
