A Jonathan candidate for PDP in the presidential race will openly deflate the voting basket of APC in the south because the excuses such as blame game, corruption etc won't be bought by the people.

Him contesting or not, is totally his choice, we are talking of the possibilities of him contesting. The season while most northern elites in both PDP and APC are shopping for Jonathan is because they know he has only one term to serve, then power will return back them. These elites are the ones that determines the voting pattern of the North. There is nothing like party loyalty in Nigeria, if at all it exist, is less than 5% of our voting population. Our voting pattern are mostly determine by religion, tribe and to some extend by elites influence. Take in West for example, in 1999, the west did not vote Abasanjo because Afenifere said they want Falae. In 2011 they massively vote for GEJ because is from South like them, in 2015, they vote for PMB because of Osibanjo their tribes man. I tell you if for example in 2023, APC gives their tickets to a northerners, and PDP to a SW most of the people shouting APC is SW, will rather vote for PDP than a northern candidate.
