No, Christians in Kaduna didn't vote for El-Rufai who prior to the election disregarded their votes because according to him, 67% of Southern Kaduna indigenes said they won't vote for him. But then, why should they vote for someone who aims to have them exterminated from the surface of the earth?

And as Abuja minister, El Rufai was an equal opportunities demolisher. Rich poor, muslim, christian, big man, small man, El Rufai would come for you. He also tried to make Abuja a world class city...but the sad thing was that he did not have the time.

Following the demolition and threat of moving their property hanging on their heads without any direct information from government about what was happening, the residents sought a meeting with Governor el-Rufai over the planned demolition of their houses to find an amicable resolution of the issue.
One of the representatives of the communities and a senior pastor with Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) Goodnews Karji, Reverend Musa Istifanus said they are appealing for dialogue with the state government to know who made mistake, what the mistake was and how to resolve the issue because government has not spoken with them directly or through any emissary.
“We were taken aback by what happened late Thursday night to early Friday morning when the demolition started. We wondered who ordered the demolition asked questions but there was no answer. But from the look of things, all fingers point to government.
“We are making appeal that government should give us audience so that we can sit down and talk over this issue because government exists for the people. We have for long acquired land, registered with necessary authorities that enabled us build our houses. We want government to tell us what we did wrong so that we can make amends.
“Government is all about people. We don’t want to create rights, we are appealing so that we can be given the chance to make right what we did wrong and if it is government that is wrong we can say it. This government is our government, we don’t want to confront government and we don’t want government to confront us.”
Another resident, Alhaji Mustapha Mohammed, urged for dialogue with government to know what they did wrong and find a lasting solution that would satisfy all parties, adding that they are for peace and not fight since the government is their government and they believe government wants the best for all the citizens.

As you can see, representation comes from both religions.

Smile, Mr. know all. The case has been in court since and yet to receive verdict. It was a case between the house owners and school of aviation which belongs to federal government. So El rufai has no right to demolish those houses as the case is still in court and also its a federal government case not state.
Tho rumor has it that Aviation contacted Elrufai to do it cos he doesn't respect rule of law and he will carry out their wish with little or no intervention.

Sometimes, I wonder why matters like this are reported by the press from religious angle when they occur in some other parts of Nigeria but when it happens in Lagos the same press reports them like normal news. No cares the religion of the governor or the victims whose houses are demolished.

Why make such insensitive statement. Were you there to know if they were fully notified? They were only given 24 hours notice for a case still in court.

No fewer than three people are feared dead and over 100 houses demolished, after men of Kaduna State Urban Planning Development Agency, KASUPDA carried out an overnight demolition exercise near Edi-l Bare Bari Community in Zaria.

A report by Arewa Agenda, a publication of Northern young writers for justice and national development disclosed that victims of the exercise are traumatised and displaced by the incident. It also published a video on the incident (https://arewaagenda.com/houses-demolished-land-zaria/)

The victims claimed that the action by KASUPDA did not follow due process, in line with the appropriate legal procedure for such exercise.

Mohammed Isa, one of the people affected by the demolition said: “The KASUPDA people just appeared suddenly and started marking the houses on 6th Jul 2020y. By Tuesday 7th, we got a tip-off from a source within KASUPDA that they are mobilizing security operatives for demolition. By the time they appeared around 9 am and tried to commence demolition, people resisted.

“The DG of KASUPDA ordered the security operatives to shoot them but the DPO was reasonable. He said he had orders to take action on the people, but his conscience won’t allow him to do so. So he retreated with his men, only to reappear at 12:05 am on Wednesday, and level the whole houses in the area by dawn,”

Another victim, Aliyu Usman said, “Since a government Agency is involved, we are not ruling out their culpability in such brazen disregard for law and order. We understand from a reliable source that there is even no documentary record for this. They simply called the Governor on phone and asked him to give KASUPDA the nod and he did.

Usman added that: “The DG of KASUPDA, himself, was a level, nine staff, at the agency. But was given accelerated promotion over his seniors to head the organization. We can confirm he was given three days to execute the demolition or lose his job.”

However, a senior government official in the State has debunked the claims of the victims.

The officer told Arewa Agenda that the residents were issued a relevant notice, and all protocols were duly followed.

“You cannot build a house in a place without what you call certificate of occupancy or approved building plan. So definitely they were given notice. But they will not admit it,” he said.

A demolition notice later dated 18th June 2020, which was forwarded to Arewa Agenda by the government official, however, indicated that the residents were given a 21-day ultimatum to relocate.

But the residents insisted that they were not served.
