Mujahid Asari-Dokubo, a former Niger Delta militant leader has described the Southeast region as ‘a barren soil, and of no economic importance to Nigeria’.

According to Asari-Dokubo, Igbos only have the ability to turn money into money — nothing more. He warned that the peaceful atmosphere needed to ensure businesses thrive, is threatened due to the activities of the so-called ‘Unknown Gunmen’ troubling the Southeast.
“Southeast Nigeria has almost no substantial
natural resources. The South East is almost a barren soil. The southeast has no outstanding Federal importance. The only thing the Igbos in the East have to their advantage is the ability to turn money into more money, but they can only achieve that if the East is peaceful for business,” Asari-Dokubo said via his Justice Foundation Facebook page on Tuesday.

“Today the Southeast has begun a movement that could turn the East into a desolate desert.

“To those hailing Unknown Gunmen, you should also know that a bullet knows nobody…

Nigeria! Look at one of your leaders and you wonder why the country is cursed.

A complete fool.

His job: Just open and close his mouth. No responsibility of what comes out.

A productive mind with empty land is better than a rich land with empty brain.

Dubai was empty but a thinking mind made it a tourist center.

Not a fan of this man, but I agree with him, that whole region is unproductive and not viable for any serious economic activity.

This is the reason why generation after generation of people from that part of Nigeria must leave and go to other parts of Nigeria fore their daily bread and survival.

The SE is also too hostile, restless and inhospitable for the people of SE and businesses.

Life is a living hell and the fact that terrorists are now in control of the whole region..

Imagine if business owners like Dangote are in the SE, they are definitely up in flames by now.

The SE even for the people of SE should be a no go area, it's currently a mass refugee area where people are confined and ruled with brutal and violent force, where basic human life rights like freedom of movement and even speech doesn't exist, say the wrong thing for step out of your house at the wrong time means serious beating or instant death.

The SE and the Igbo race are slowly inching off the cliff..

So much sense in what he said, but the illiterate in the East thinking they will be made minister for petroleum when a biafera that includes the oil rich Niger Delta comes, will not agree with him

He is correct, that's why government is not ready to negotiate with them. They didn't bring anything meaningful to the table.

Again this is what Ipobians failed to realized. The SE like the NE holds no geopolitical/economic significance to coerce Nigeria into submission or make her president feel jittery to accede to their demand.

What is their negotiation power?
Killing security operatives who are mostly their own people and burning FG institutions in their own land.
How do these add to our VAT or accrued revenue?

This Ipob shenanigans might be going on for years without FG response except for the safety of well meaning Igbos.

How can you so much HATE a people, and yet shit your pants at mere possibility of their seceding and forming their own country.
