The gracious calls Christ gives you to come to Him, encourage your hope, that if you come to Him you shall have what you come for. Jesus had mercy, Bartimaeus eyes were opened. His faith had made him whole.

Many ask: ‘Why is Jesus the only way to God?’ God is the landlord of His house who said there is only one way into His Kingdom. “No one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal Him (Mt 11:27, NIV).” Jesus Christ, the Son, is the only way to God. He gives you a choice. However, in His Kingdom He does as He pleases. It is either you take it or leave it. He is free to do what He wants. He sets the rules. He gives the conditions. It is up to us to comply.
If you choose to go to hell, it is you that will be forever lost. God never loses. You are not doing God a favour by accepting His plan of salvation. If you could contact the dead, you would know that Heaven and hell are real.
We will NOT miss it IJN. Blessed day!

A common mistake made by many, is to blame others for their misfortune in life. Some blame the devil, their father-in-law or mother-in-law, etc, but do you know that you can be your own worst enemy? Way back in Genesis, everything was in order until Adam and Eve sinned. When God visited and began to ask questions, they laid a bad precedent, which may still follow today – blaming somebody else for their wrong-doing. Sin scatters: it disorganises God’s great plan for a person and plunges the fellow into a life out of order.

The story of Joseph teaches us some fundamental truths about God and prosperity. The first is that your location affects your resource allocation. If you want to be prospered, then you must find out whether you are where God wants you to be. “Location” here connotes your geographical location, spiritual placement, business or career path. When Joseph went to Egypt, the Bible says he went “down”. In this case, it was not his choice to go to Egypt. He was taken there against his will after being sold as a slave by his brothers. God warned Isaac not to go down to Egypt (Genesis 26:1-17). If he had defied that order, Isaac would have missed his prosperity.

With a meager provision of two fishes and five loaves of bread, He multiplied a boy’s meal to feed thousands, yet the leftover filled 12 baskets because His name is El-Shaddai – the God who is more than enough. This year, the Lord will multiply your little to meet your needs and there shall be leftovers in Jesus name.

Although the early church met regularly at the temple, synagogues and other places for large congregational meetings, they did not fail to meet in smaller units such as in members’ houses where they fellowshipped together. God is pleased with such gatherings and therefore recognises certain blessings from members of house fellowships, house fellowship leaders and members.
Never underrate prayers said in house fellowship! The house fellowship is a very important arm of the body of Christ, every believer should therefore be an active member in one of them. As you do so, God will recognize and bless you.

Do you know that your faith in Christ has the potential to endure the toughest of trials? May you never fall again in Jesus name. When the Lord made an exception for the undefiled few in Sardis, He said they were reserved for honour because they earned it (Revelations 3:4). From this we know that rewards are earned. To be counted worthy to walk with the King of kings, all dressed in white, is a prize you must work for. Honour is one of the benefits for the undefiled few. It does not matter if people tag you a fanatic for your faith in Christ today. You may be seriously ridiculed, even disgraced. Never worry because somebody, your shame will give way to honour that is of eternal quality. The Lord Himself will honour you and cause others to honour you.

Open Heavens Devotional : Tuesday 10 January – MOVE UP!

In Isaiah 6:1-5, Isaiah saw God’s glory and his life was never the same. Another person who encountered God’s glory was John the Beloved. Of the twelve, he was the closest to the Lord. While on the island of Patmos as a prisoner for his faith in Christ, he was separated from society and his companions were trees and wild animals. Yet, for him to access a level of glory beyond what he saw of the Lord on the Mountain of Transfiguration, he was asked to come up higher. Why? It is because your location will determine the level of God’s glory you encounter. As long as you remain in the valley, you will be limited in the level of God’s glory you experience. Anyone in the valley of sin, stagnancy, doubt, fear, or disobedience should not expect to see God’s glory as these will block the view. Are you experiencing a level of God’s glory today? Praise God! To move up to a higher level, you must change your location.

Open Heavens Devotional : Wednesday 11 January – ANY KNOCKS?

When you are born again, you become a brand new person (2 Corinthians 5:17). Salvation is crucial and precious hence Mark 8:36 says gaining the whole world at the expense of one’s soul profits nothing. You must never allow anything or anyone to rob you of your salvation. There are experiences in you Christian walk beyond salvation. At salvation, God cleanses all your past sins, destroys old queries in your heavenly file and gives you a new beginning, but it doesn’t end there. Your new nature in Christ given at salvation needs to be made manifest in your experience of sanctification. By this, you manifest the ability to crave a holy life. Beyond just washing your sins away, the Lord gives you a new heart. According to Ezekiel 36:26, He replaces your heart of stone with a heart of flesh. Why? Jeremiah 17:9 says your original heart is desperately wicked. From it proceeds all evil thoughts and schemes (Matt 15:19).
