The licence withdrawal has nothing to do with gas price but their inability to fulfil their obligation to The FIT scheme which was first introduced in 2010 as a way to encourage property managers and organisations to generate their own renewable electricity using technology such as solar panels or wind turbines, and feeds any surplus back to the grid. so stop spewing trash.
second these nations give businesses and citizens steady electricity ours do not so there is no need to compare we still generate our power supply with generators how many mega watts have Nigerian energy companies actually contributed to the grid since inception the there is no positive to take from your write up about Nigeria which is utterly a shit hole

The UK has Scotland, an oil producing country yet just few days ago, 4 of their own equivalent of EKDC ,IKEDC etc have returned their licenses because of this high oil and gas price which rendered them bankrupt and their customers will need to wait until they are assigned new energy retailers. Our own IKEDC, EKEDC etc are still in operation.


Most of you don't see anything good in your own land and that's why the land can't release its blessings to you. Right now, even the EU, UK, Lebanon etc have something to learn from us! The UK hiding under truck drivers scarcity is lying! They have human resources capacity problems, in Nigeria, all our truck drivers are Nigerians, no serious country in the world will abandon such a strategic sector to foreigners!

Please stay on what you know and stop quoting the rhetorics you have fixed in your memory that it's all utopia in "these nations ".

Please don't do this sir. I am 100% sure of the information I shared with you on the energy retailers. You can check ofgem website for updates on the list of retailers "ceasing to trade". The number keeps growing every week and the latest 4 account for a little over 200,000 customers. Wind accounts for about 40% but wind power dropped recently and they had to revive coal.

The heavy electricity users are already reducing production in EU while those in UK are demanding that the government steps in to help them before the impact of the high cost of gas cause them to shut down commodities manufacturing and distribution ahead of winter. They are requesting for a sort of subsidy which I doubt the UK can afford.

It's no brainer that it's business decision because most of them run on gas and gas has creamed off the profits and debt mounting whereas they can't increase electricity price because there is a cap. Like I stated earlier, most of you don't see anything good in Nigeria so don't blame anyone when the same land you look down on withhold its blessings from you.

Right now, England is patching stuffs. As I type here, I am in Nigeria and I enjoy 24 hours uninterrupted public electricity supply. This has been on for months! EKDC and IKEDC are not ceasing to trade like energy retailers in the UK. There's absolutely something they can learn from Nigeria, after all, UK has oil and gas too.
