Note that there will always be indirect election or consensus in the party to shortlist candidates. The primary election is for party members ONLY to elect flag bearers, and will render buying of delegates useless

This portends danger for future elections and will undermine chances of candidates from certain regions .......in some regions it's very easy to get twice the number of delegates than whatever the other regions can put together.....cheaper,easier and quicker.

If Lagos for instance can muster 10k delegates for direct primaries, Borno can muster 25k and that number can be used to advantage

You are very apt on this....getting delegates in the north is way easier and fat cheaper than in the south and this can be used to utmost advantage by the most populous region

While I agree with you partially, I'm of the believe that enforcement of direct primary will deepen participation and reduce sharing of dollars among few people elected into Electoral College.

Forget the lies, as long as our politicians are involved, they will still do what they want to do. Andy Uba is still in Court for a supposed direct primary election, politicians are human beings.

Two things will happen.....The smaller political parties will die off because they do not have the needed finance to conduct direct primaries in the States, or sometimes Country (in Presidential primaries). We will only have APC & PDP at the end of it.

The logistics is something else, both for the parties and the Electoral body. Allow parties decide the method based on their capacities.

That clause is a deliberate ploy to ensure that some of them scale through without any hitch.

It is like a double edged sword and infact more negative than positive because,

1) Virtually all the political parties in Nigeria don't have updated register of party members.

2) People move freely and recklessly from one party to another.

In such cases, how do you determine who is eligible to vote as a party member and who is not?
