I saw this topic and hoped to make a meaningful contribution, only to see that what makes Tuface a bad singer is by comparison to Darey. @Op, for you not to even know how or who to compare to who, gives you no credibility to say that Tuface is not a good singer.

I think we have a case of 'THE EMPERORS NEW CLOTHES' going on here.

Tuface is a good composer/writer, but just has a dull, forgetable voice (that is, on his current back-catalogue; even 'african queen' didn't move me like it did some) that's got no range. One thing he's got going for him is good PR, and -i guess- a loyal fan base that'll brook no criticism of their man.

I do like the beats on some of his recent material though.

A few good voiced Nigerians that come to mind are Omawunmi; Samsong; Timi Dakolo; Chydynma, etc.

I think Tuface came on to the Nigerian music scene at a time when standards where not as demanding and as high as they are today, and he managed to aquire a name and following that has stuck with him ever since.

I feel he can try though if he pushes himself, as i once watched him on tv, live on-stage during a question and answer session. He sang a few songs as well. I was impressed, and wondered why he didn't put in this kind of effort on his Albums.

Anyway, that's my take on it.
