He said those who love Him are those who submit to and obey His teachings... in the parable of the builders in Matthew 7 vs 24 - 29, Jesus Christ explained that those who submit to and obey His teachings and commandments are like those who build the very foundation of their houses in rocks whereas the foolish ones who refuse to obey His teachings and commandments are like those who build their houses on sand.

If your foundation is not laid on the rock - obedience of the Truth- His teachings and commandments - whatever foundation you have is not of Him. If what you consider common knowledge to you is not even based on His actual message to you, then your time is wasted. .

By the way, do you know how to in fact let your light shine? God tells you exactly how to let your light shine and this He decreed in Isaiah 58 where He teaches you to do this through His own Kind of Fasting....
