A few years ago, one of the branches of Winners Chapels opened on my street.

It didn't take long for them to set up 4 loud speakers outside their church. My quiet mornings became filled with their cries to God to have mercy on his people.

I struggle with insomia, and I'm a light sleeper. Imagine how the quality of my days deteriorated, waking up angry and possed, the gruntings from the Head Pastor's throat banginge ear drums every morning.

I confronted them on many occasions, but nothing seemed to work. I then had the brilliant idea to make a video recording and upload to my Twitter account. I tagged their Headquarters and their main account, asked them if Jesus was wrong to ask them to pray in cupboards, quiet and away from the neighbors.

I also went to all their social media pages and made an asshole of meself..... Gotta say this year, I noticed they have moved their speakers in... I rarely know when they have services, and my street is no quiet as Bleep again... Even on Sundays.

Have you had a similar issue? How did you solve it?

Nice strategy. Here we report to health officials at the local government. If they refuse to remove them quietly they are summoned to court.

Well, I live in PH. I have around 15 churches around me. This 'New Guy' was the only erring one.

One morning, they were just 8 in attendance for a 5AM service (yes, I walked in and counted). All the speakers were on and outside at 5 fucking AM..

Oh well, disconnected 2 and walked out. I was so pissed that morning I actually considered arson.. πŸ˜•

What if Jesus is a lie?

The mosque that used to disturb me has given themselves brain, if not I for do the unimaginable on them one day.

I guess others also complained before they grew sense and did the needful.

Mhen!

I almost wrote to LASEPA to report the church and mosque close to me. The two are opposite each other. There are 3 mosques on the street! Crazy!

I thought it was going to be anonymous until I read a part on their website where they said they will 'mediate', thereby exposing me. I couldnt take the risk of the mosque and church people doing something to me, so I dropped the issue and endured, as those guys can be extremists.

It is a nightmare having a meeting or class at home once its 'time'.

I confronted the pastor.

Every morning by 4:30a.m he will put speakers outside and to think tye church is located on another street o Yet the noise so loud.

One morning I went straight to him and advised him to reduce the volume or I report him to the authorities... embarassed

You can worship GOD WITHOUT constituting disturbance to people around you.

Living between two Big Loud Speakers mounted Mosques πŸ•Œ in the Muslim North is almost a curse 🀬

The Noise from each Mosque is enough to Crack a fresh headache every morning. Muslims β˜ͺ️ aren't the type you can talk to anyhow as a Christian in the north

When I threatened them with petition to government, they boldly asked me to go ahead and see what would happen to me afterwards. Even my closest muslim neighbor joined them.... Buhari people are not humans but raw wild beasts

The fact that such noise pollution and insensitivity from our religious houses are allowed to stand shows how lawless this nation is...!

This is part of what made me give up religion...!

How on Earth does a church justify keeping me awake at night in the name of Special Night Vigil?!!... This is lawlessness!!!

Auditory terrorism and trampling on my fundamental right to a peaceful night rest!

Even Jesus Christ went to mountains and Wilderness to hold such intense and prolonged vociferous prayers!!!

The insensitivity of these religious houses is annoying...... Sometimes, we go for church services and the speakers almost renders a person's ear permanently deaf.........You're holding a microphone and you're shouting; nor be JuJu be that?

There was this church at the back of my house fence with almost 4 speakers but population of 20 members or so. The noice from the speakers are unbearable, I don't go church cos that's the only day I have to rest, to avoid being disturbed by their noise I always go to my friend's house at another street between the hour of 9am to 1pm. One day I decided to stop that rubbish. I borrow a big speaker from my friend placed it on the fence , face the church directly and start playing secular music on that fateful Sunday morning, noise start fighting noise cos I loud the music. After church I carry the speaker in. I was thinking they will stop but nothing changes, they still have another service on Monday morning but I don't have their time. On Wesday evening they start their madness again I have no choice than to connect the speaker to my DVD player and I slot in Adult film lock my door remove the other speakers inside then Increase the volume so every church member will feel it and walk out. Only for me to come back after one hour and the speaker wire has been disconnected and met the speaker fall to the back of my window, it's obvious someone did that. Na so the madness in me resurrect, I enter the church with force. The community landlords later settle it and the noise from the church stop. Few months after the church pack comot for our area

They shouldn't be operating in residential areas in the first instance. There is also an agency domiciled with the health ministry that regulates noise pollution that reports can be made to.

I sometimes wonder if we have become BAAL worshippers by the irregular frequencies we generate all in the bid to worship a God that knows our needs even before we ask.

There was a time a central mosque in Fadeyi, Lagos was closed by LASEPA.

Another one in Ishola Street Close to Row Park, Casino, Alagomeji, Ebute metta was closed for some days till they embrace indoor speakers!

Way to go! Indoor speakers!

Call upon your Lord with humility and in private. Verily, He does not love transgressors. Qur'an 7:55

Jesus taught, β€œWhen you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men … but when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your father who is unseen.”
Matthew 6:5-8

It is very easy to approach a church for dialogue, not a mosque. Except you want them to declare JIHAD on your head
