Seriously why isn't there a single Nigerian hotline listed on the link below:

(Note: even Ghana is listed)

Maybe we don't give it much attention because of how often Sniper-drinking cases hit the Nairaland front page.

Truth is: suicide is a much more serious public health problem than we think. In the US, suicide is the second leading cause of death of youth and young adults (ages 10-34).

You may say: "That's over there in the US". But have you considered the massive influence the US has over our pop culture and entertainment?

So please don't just shrug this off and look for the next serpent thread.

If you know anyone with suicide hotlines here in Nigeria, please tell them to at least - as a matter of public service - list their numbers on Nairaland

Lots of young (and not-so-young) people check in here, and those numbers could help them speak to someone before they take unwise actions.
