Re- OPINION: Zamfara’s Ship Without Rudder: No Focus, No Direction! - A Response by Omonaijablog: 10:23am On Oct 21, 2021
Re- OPINION: Zamfara’s Ship Without Rudder: No Focus, No Direction! - A response by Abdullahi Bello Talata Mafara.

The Editor's note by Suleman Tukur, a public affairs commentator based in Samaru, Gusau, the Zamfara state capital, in which the pen name author described the government of Bello Matawalle as The rudderless leadership in the northwest state on the watch of Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle, and published by the Ligit online and re- published by the Opera online, is nothing but an alarming sign of defeat and frustrations by the sponsors of the article.

The article is nothing but, an indication that the remnants enemies of Zamfara progress are still at work, despite efforts by the bulldozer governor to ensure the unity of the citizens of Zamfara state to enjoy the dividends of democracy from both the federal and state governments.

The sponsors' motive behind the article was to ensure the continued collaborations between them and the bandits to torment the wellbeing of the good people of Zamfara state.

The desperate and overzealous politicians who are unleashing their vengeance on the innocent people of Zamfara state following their elimination out of Zamfara political scene due to their selfish interests and blind opposition.

My simple, but non-affirmative reaction to Suleman Tukur, who disguised under pseudonym in Re- OPINION: Zamfara’s Ship Without Rudder: No Focus, No Direction! - A response by Abdullahi Bello Talata Mafara.

The Editor's note by Suleman Tukur, a public affairs commentator based in Samaru, Gusau, the Zamfara state capital, in which the pen name author described the government of Bello Matawalle as The rudderless leadership in the northwest state on the watch of Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle&, published by the Ligit online and re- published by the Opera online, is nothing but an alarming sign of defeat and frustrations by the sponsors of the article.

My simple, but non-affirmative reaction to Suleman Tukur, who disguised under the cydow name, to as usual, deceive his cantankerous paymasters to at all costs, mislead the readers and the general public about the ongoing efforts by Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle to make Zamfara better than he met it.

Let me start my response with the assertion by the world leadership writers, researchers and commentators, who listed seven qualities and characteristics of good leadership. According to them, &Many leadership qualities have been observed throughout history. Some were adopted by bad leaders, while others were exhibited by good leaders.

&In either case, the characteristics of those in charge correlated to their ability to accomplish their goals. Just as importantly, those same traits determined how much—or how little—their followers looked up to them.

In a nutshell, the scholars have identified 7 leadership qualities and characteristics of good leaders. These include, Vision, Courage, Integrity, Humility, Strategic planning, Focus and Cooperation.

According to the scholars, &Great leaders find the balance between business foresight, performance, and character. They have vision, courage, integrity, humility and focus along with the ability to plan strategically and catalyze cooperation amongst their teams.

The good news is that each of these leadership attributes, characteristics, and traits can be learned through practice and repetition and Malam Bello Matawallen Maradun does not claim to be a paragon by virtue, but a continuous learning leader who always respect the wishes and aspirations of his people which is part of good governance. This is why Matawalle is running an open door policy government to go in line with the principles of democracy.

On the issue of taking much time before constituting his cabinets, Governor Bello Matawalle had to carefully study and access the needs of his people in order to do what is right for them. In a proverb, it say “it is better to be late than never”. This means Governor Bello Matawalle who was haphazardly handed over Zamfara state to with series of enormous challenges ranging from huge debt profile, insecurity, unemployment, non payment of leave grants and promotion increment, gratuities, WAEC & NECO Examination fees, scholarships and tuitions fees, poor healthcare delivery, dilapidated education sector, series of unpaid deductions from workers salary,  series of garnish order and court injunction, lack of official and operational vehicles due to the mass auction of these essential machineries and plants for the smooth running of government, just to mention but a few of the pyramid of problems inherited by Governor Bello Matawalle’s administration.

On the accusation of frequent reorganization and appointments of officers and leaders of government labeled against Governor Bello Matawalle Administration by the contracting Sulaiman Tukur, Gov. Matawalle was constantly assessing the performances of the officers to meet the need of the state in fighting head on, the lingering security challenges inherited from Tukur’s paymasters. Perhaps, Mr Tukur need to be reminded of the fact that providing security to the lives and properties of the governed is the most paramount and basic function of government anywhere. This is why governor Matawalle was running helter schelter to ensure the unity of Zamfara people as a family to bring to an end, the current security challenges facing the state.
