- A booster to Imo GDP

The 3R administration of HE Gov Hope Uzodimma have assured Imolites that his administration is bent on recovering stolen assets of the state with the institution of rehabilitation, reconstruction and recovery mantra which led to the recovery of 43 oil ceded to Rivers State over two decades.

Among the 43 oil wells recovered viz - 22 oil wells are situated at Mgbede Field in Egbema, Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area, while 21 oil wells are situated at the Akri Field in Oguta Local government area.

The government of Imo State led by Gov Hope Uzodimma having made complaint to National Boundary Commission upon assumption of office over the attribution of 17 oil wells situated in communities within the state, especially those of Oguta LGA, to Rivers State for over 20 years.

This situation led to National Boundary Commission to conduct a boundary review and demarcation that recently saw the oil wells returned to Imo State.

Uzodimma's efforts have yielded fruit as this extra revenue of N8bn per month, Imo people will experience rapid road expansions, universal healthcare, watertight security, social cover for the vulnerable, modernised schools, gratuities, zero youth unemployment, affordable housing for the masses, safely managed water for every home, low taxation – prosperity in short.

The recovery of the oil wells will serve as a boost to the revenue generation of the state and Imo will assume a stronger position in the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC.

With the recovery of 43 oil well in the state, Imo State is now the 4th largest oil producing State in Nigeria.

Op, why mislead your readers? Nowhere in the report did it say the state has recovered the Wells. The governor only promised to fight to ensure the wells are recovered. Some of you just post fake news as if your readers don't actually read what you post.

@Sakamaje, the National Boundary Commission ceded 43 oil wells to Imo State from Rivers State. However, Wike took the case to the Supreme Court to contest 17 of them and the case is still in court. So, yes, Hope Uzodinma helped Imo State recover some oil wells. The court will hear the case on November 1.

There are still more to recover. Most Imo communities handed over to Rivers State by Obasanjo under the crude Justice Mamma Nasir boundary adjustment committee must be recovered. Obasanjo and Murtala out of pure hatred, created a committee to slice off oil rich Igbo towns and hand over to other neighboring states just to get at igbos. This gave other military tyrants like Babangida and Abacha the audacity to do likewise over the years. The time and energy these people spent on all sorts of evil schemes is nonplussing! This is why I can't help but wonder what is wrong with some igbos here who have been so mentally blackmailed into accepting these boundaries simply because the majority groups in these neighboring states are antagonistic to Igbo interests..

I thought this matter is yet to be resolved by the court have the supreme court finally ruled in favor of imo state?

Misleading headline.. The Oil has not been giving to Imo state.

But that these oil Wells were given to Rivers State to start with and Imo now has to fight for what rightfully belongs to her, is a grave injustice.

Justice for me in this case would be that Rivers should return the proceeds of crude oil sales from these Wells to Imo state .
