Senator Hope Uzodinma , Imo State governor, is currently doing everything possible to ensure equitable and quality access to basic healthcare for Imo citizens, especially the poor and most vulnerable in the society .

The governor since office assumption, embarked on massive equipment upgrade and Infrastructural improvement at the Imo State University Teaching Hospital, IMSUTH, located in Orlu; the annexes at Ogbaku, Anara and Alike Obowo. This is to buttress the point that Uzodinma is determined to turn the state as a hub for medical tourism, thereby, reducing foreign medical treatment to it's lowest minimal.

The revamping of abandoned dialysis centre with 7 functional machines, ultrasound room, reversed osmosis unit, colposcopy unit and neurology theatre unit. Others include completion of all the abandoned blocks at phase 2 of the hospital, provision of water throughout the hospital building, improvement of human capital development and staff motivation. These were done by the working governor to reduce foreign medical treatments to the barest minimum.

Recent visit to the health facility during a fact finding mission and an interface with the Chief Medical Director, CMD, Dr. Ifeanyi Nwamba, a Rome trained Surgeon, showed the governor's determination to drastically reduce the amount of money Imolites and Nigerians spend on foreign medical tour.

Further, our findings revealed that the 3R administration has immensely improved on the welfare package for IMSUTH staff including making concerted efforts to provide the health workers with a friendly environment, facilities and tools to work with.

IMSUTH Orlu dialysis section that had been in a state of comatose for several years before Uzodinma's emergence, now runs competitive services with the help of specialists and other support staff.

Uzodinma’s huge investment at IMSUTH, Orlu and its aforementioned annex would strengthen the income of the state while elevating the state as the hub for medical tourism in the country.

The facelift that the governor made at IMSUTH gives patients strong hope that their health would not be played with. Indeed, the various units of the hospital are wearing new look and are environmental friendly. It is amazing that the duo of Senator Uzodimma and Dr. Nwamba are contributing immensely to the development of the health sector. Most importantly, the governor has ensured that IMSUTH workers are paid their salaries regularly since he took over as the governor of the state.

The construction of the inner road leading to the medical facility, the renovation of old and new buildings in the hospital, the provision of hospital parking lay-out and beautification with security house at the phase 2 of the hospital are encouraging.

Consequently, i, hereby, appeal to Imolites and residents to be rational and appreciate the efforts the government is making so far to ensure that the state is returned to its cherished glory. Indeed, this government is for all Imolites. Let us not see this administration as Gov Hope Uzodinma's government, lets us see it as ours.

Critics can go and die, our Supreme Court Governor is a performer.

But I'd only believe this when our darling daddy, Asiwaju Jagaban and even Uzodinma get their next medical treatment from here.

The man is really trying.

But being at enemity with your own people is the worst thing he did which apparently outweighs the little effort he's making in government

Trash!!!

The Hopeless man is now paying afonja guys to write fake stories for the gullible. This man is the worst thing that ever happened to Imo State. People said that Rochas built "China" roads and structures but at least he did something and widened the roads while establishing markets outside the city center which helped in opening up new areas. Rochas also allowed free education and renovated many schools across the state and opened up new areas with roads. But we felt he didn't do enough only for this Hopeless man to seize power and everything went under.

Almost all the roads in Owerri are now in terrible disrepair. I was forced to pack my car at home and started entering public transport because each day it rains, you will suffer untold hardship and may either get home at 12 midnight or you just park it at the road side and risk burglary. Mechanics are the biggest boys in Owerri now and cashing out as damaged cars are brought to them everyday.

The only thing this hopeless man has done since he forcefully took over is to destroy roundabouts and replace them with traffic lights while patching and painting the junctions!

We are counting days and praying for this locust phase to pass away.

You talk TRASH.

The topic is about IMSUTH getting affordable health facilities for the people of Imo state; while you are talking about Owerri and its roads.

Have the MRI and CT Scan of IMSUTH been restored? That’s what one expected from a true citizen of Imo state to ask.
FYI, one of the earliest pledges of Hope Uzodinma when he became governor was to restore efficiency of IMSUTH through recovering IMSUTH’s CT Scan and MRI machines dismantled by Okorocha government and used to build private hospitals in Owerri.

It's not about providing few medical equipment and writing a long epistle to convince the masses about your performance.

Like NwaAmaikpe averred, I will take that statement of stopping foreign medical tourism serious when I see Buhari and Tinubu spending some few minutes there.
