Early last month ,I complained to my wife that my 3-year old son couldn't write anything(Even number 1) despite the fact that he have been registered into a school as early as 2 years old .Because of this ,I have to challenge my wife and my son Aunty that they have been doing nothing to help my son .I told them I have been wasting my money to pay school fee when he should have stayed at home/shop with his mum while we use the school fee/money for other things at home . Yesternight ,I went home. (I work in Lekki/live on mainland and I go home two or three times a week).I woke up this morning and I brushed his tooth/ took his bath for him .I dressed for him and served him breakfast .Later ,I asked him to bring a pen and his book which he did .I later asked him to write 1 2 3 for me .To my surprise ,my little boy wrote 1 to 30 uninterrupted and I was so shocked because I was expecting him to even stop at 10 .I mean I was so surprised . After writing ,he said dad I want to draw my mum,he put on some sketches and later said dad,I will draw you now . Seriously ,I am so happy right now and I am so proud as a father .I am planning to do a transfer of some token to his aunty when I get my salary and also give his mum a compensation of #20,000 for a job well done .. Lesson :Be patient with these toddlers . Mods you can move to frontpage to encourage other parents here .. 233 Likes 16 Shares |

Greenkim:Get different flashcards with the sounds of the alphabet on them, and try to make them see blending sounds as a fun game. Stop teaching them to cram 2 and 3 letter words. That method is outdated. 38 Likes 1 Share |

congrats. it is good for fathers to pay attention to the academic life of their kids. many leave this task for the mothers alone and it is bad. increase your time with him. give him more academic tasks with juicy rewards,he will surprise you 64 Likes 2 Shares |

dont be so quick to blame this and that when it comes to children.... many are naturally slow and there is nothing wrong with that as two kids are never the same. some walk at 8months while others not even before 112/15...same with talking. relax! 27 Likes 2 Shares |

Many of these primary school teachers now only press phone in class and doesn’t gaf about the kids. Just Instagram and as a good parent try not to loose guard if not your kid dey on God. 4 Likes |

I can relate. Primary education is very key and important, it determines the how intellectual a child will be in future. My primary school education formed me and made me who I am today, secondary school and university na mostly cruise as I had the brain already. Find a good school and enroll your son, not all these schools that employ and exploit graduate to be paying then 20k ooh, I mean well renowned school with seasoned teachers who have core values. Omo, till date, I still remember the lessons I had in my primary school vividly, but I barely remember the secondary school own. It may not be cheap however but it's worth it . All these kids that smash IELTS, TOEFL and get 9As in waec in their ss3 , it was due to quality education in their formative years. Most primary and secondary schools in Nigeria now are just doing rubbish. No quality! 11 Likes |

Abeg leave that boy to grow at his best own pace, I ask my wife why she bothers herself that our child is not doing academic wonders at an early age as if she has seen anyone put the nursery school they attended in their CV 3 Likes |
