The cause of sudden death syndrome in broiler chickens is unknown, but it is thought to be a metabolic disease related to carbohydrate metabolism, lactic acidosis, loss of cell membrane integrity, and intracellular electrolyte imbalance. Recent studies link this disease to cardiac arrhythmias.

*Have you been underfeeding your birds because you don’t want to run at loss when you finally sell them off or you looking for a way to Ration feed because of how expensive feeds are now in Nigeria ? Or you have been looking for the accurate quantity to feed your birds daily that will make them grow faster without having to overfeed them ?*

Have being there and I know you also have being there or you are even there presently, you don’t have to worry anymore because after learning how to accurately calculate the amount of feed required by your birds all your worries will come to an end.

If you have being a farmer for a while now, you will have known that the expenses that goes to feeding in your farm alone covers 68% of the total amount you spend, cost of the day old birds you purchase cost 24%, while your birds medication cost the remaining 8% of your total farm expenses.

So am going to be calculating how much feed it takes to raise 50 birds from day old till 6weeks when 80% of the birds have already acquired 2.5kg weight

So the way I do it that always get me results is that I feed my birds from day old till I sell them off only starters ? Yes only starters, and its because its only starters that gets me my desired weight which when I sell off makes me the maximum profits, but if you use both staters and finisher you don’t have a problem you can continue with it as long as it gets you the results you want OK ?

So To Achieve 2.5kg weight between 6-7weeks is possible and am going to show you how I go about it. By dividing their days into 3 categories.

1) 0-11days -My 50 birds feeds on half A Bag from day old till they are 10days old. That means if I buy a starter 7,500 I will spend 3,750 on their feeding upbringing from day old till they are 10days old. (1week 3days)

2) 11- 23days My 50 birds feeds on 2bags from their 11days old till when they are 23days old so if I buy a starter 7500 l spend 15,000 for their feeding upbringing from day 11 till they are 23days old ( 3weeks 2days)

3) 23 to 42days - My 50 birds feeds on 5bags from their 23days old till when they are 42days which is the final day I sell them off so if I buy a starter 7500 I spend 37,500 for their feeding upbringing from day 23 till they are 42 days old ( 6weeks).

So my total feeding expenses for my 50birds from day old till they are 6weeks (maturity week) is

3750 plus 15,000 plus 37,500 which gives me the total of #56,250 And this means I will need #56,250 to raise 50birds to make them attain a marketable weight of 2.5kg at 6weeks.

* 10 USEFUL ORGANIC POULTRY FARMING TIPS POULTRY FARMERS ARE USING*

1) Antibiotic

Bitter leave, scent leaves, neem and moringa. Where you can't get these together. Bitter leaves and scent leaves will help.

2)CRD

Ginger, garlic and pepper. Where there's no ginger and garlic give pepper (Cayenne also known as shombo).

3) Fowl pox

Lime and oil. Rub on the spot and add drops of lime to the water.
Or give Ampiclox ( 4-5 capsule to 5 litres of water)

4) Paralysis
Give Calcium

Egg shells or oyster shells or periwinkle shells. Or better use DS-UltraCal-D

5) Viral Diseases (E.g Newcastle Disease)
Always have tagiri in your pen for any viral disease.

6) Organic Promoter.
Bitter kola, Cayenne( Shombo), Clove, black pepper, turmeric and black seeds, Egg Emulsion With Black Strap Molasses.

7) Too much fat In Layers
Mix Dried Powdered Moringa Leaf in feed.

Coccidiosis ( Reddish & Yellowish Foamy Poops)
Give Blended Neem leaves Juice For 3days A Week

9) Greenish Poop/Cholera
Blend together Scentleaf and Bitterleaf and administer to sick birds

10) Diarrhea
Then organic you can use scent leaves, pawpaw leaves and bitterleaf all blended together sieve and give to the birds
Or give Aloe vera gel every morning as their first water.. Very good too or you can use Flagyl (Human Drug).

*HOW TO MAKE 6 ORGANIC FEED ADDITIVES THAT BOAST BIRDS GROWTH, PREVENTS CRD AND OTHER POULTRY DISEASES WHEN YOU ADD IT TO YOUR BIRDS FEED.*

Feed addictives are organic growth promoters that are pounded and grinded into powdery form before mixing and adding it to poultry feeds.
This addictives are used to boast the growth of your birds, strength them against diseases and also prevent diseases infection from your birds.
This feed addictives must not be added to feed too much or else it may cause Side effects, so always make sure to follow the right quantity prescribed to be added to feeds.

THE DIFFERENT FEED ADDICTIVES.
1) Bitter kola : Bitter kola is a good broiler growth promoter and also helps to prevent and cure cough, cold and CRD. dry and pound it and mix together with your birds feed. Pound 0.1- 0.2g to 1kg of feed.
2) Cayenne( Shombo) : This is another growth promoter that can be dried and grinded and mixed with feed. Also works well to strength the birds immune system and also used to treat and prevent Respiratory diseases like CRD. Dry and pound 25g to every 1kg of feed.
3) Cloves: Should also be grinded and mixed with feeds mix 1.5g to 1kg of feed.
4) black pepper works well as a growth promoter and also prevent Respiratory diseases. Grind 10g to every 1kg of feed.
5) Turmeric- Helps to attain weighty birds within shorter period of time. Sundry and grind tumeric then add to feed. Ensure all feed additives be in powdery form.

6) Moringa leaf.( Helps to reduce weight and fats)
Maybe your broilers are dying because of too much fat, or your layers are laying blood stained eggs, they have prolapse and are dying because of too much fat and weight. Mix Dried Powdered Moringa Leaf in their feed and it will start reducing their weights within 3days. Dry and grind 25g to every 1kg of feed.

SYMPTOMS.
Newcastle disease affects the nervous system that's why its symptoms causes paralysis, weakness and ruffled feathers, twisting of the neck and irregular posture or movement of affected birds.
Newcastle disease affects the digestive system of the birds that's why its symptoms causes Greenish-diarrhea poops in poultry birds.
Newcastle disease also affects the production of laying birds it's a drops their production and so makes them lay eggs that has no shell.
Newcastle diseases affects the respiratory system that's why it symptoms causes birds to Sneeze and also causes discharge from their eyes mouth and noses.
PREVENTION AND CURE.
Newcastle disease can't be cured but can be prevented from invading your birds that's why birds must be vaccinated against it monthly.
The only vaccine that treats and prevents Newcastle disease is LASOTA VACCINE this vaccine is the only prevention farmers can use to prevent this disease from invading their birds and also to stop treat birds infected with Newcastle diseases.
Note : because of how strong and stubborn Newcastle disease is monthly vaccination must be done to continue it's prevention from your poultry farm.
Bio security measures prevention against newcastle diseases.
Never allow any other birds that js not from your farm to enter your pen also prevent rats birds and local hens from entering from pens because they are carriers of diseases Also make sure your pen is clean and tidy and always throw away any dead bird and any decomposing material from your farm

Always be conscious and be vigilant with your birds, when birds are sick look out for the symptoms to be sure if it's Newcastle disease, vaccinate your birds against it once you confirm it's symptoms.
And when you vaccinate always vaccinated your birds with the required dose of lasota vaccine.
