This APC govt should leave this fuel subsidy issue. They should first Fix our refineries, when these refineries start working subsidy will naturally go.

Rather, they are budgeting huge monies for palliative, at the end of the day we will all be here and hear how the palliative money was embezzled. we will all hear and see that paying for the subsidy would have been cheaper than pay ₦5000 palliative to the so called "poor" Nigerians.

Why, because at the moment we don't even know the exact number of "poor" Nigerians, at first we heard that it will be given to 30 to 40 million poor Nigerians but now we are hearing 42 million "poor" Nigerians and it will keep on ballooning.

So they want to spend 200billion monthly (2.4 trillion yearly) on fake N5,000 grant to the poor and they saying subsidy is not benefiting the poor.. how much do the spend on subsidy yearly??

Better leave the fuel price at 145 and continue paying subsidy than that corrupt 5k that wont reach anybody

How do they even reach these poor Nigerians?
I have never seen or heard of any of their palliative activities, in my village and other villages around it.
That is because your village don't speak Fulani. Secondly, it's a campaign fund in disguise. And lastly, it's a direct loophole from where the looting continue massively unquestioned. In conclusion, Nigeria isn't for everyone.

Why can't they use the money to build new refineries?

Why haven't they used this money since to build new refineries?

I remember back then when Goodluck Ebele Jonathan wanted to remove subsidy because obviously it was not sustainable, Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his bunch of ignorant urchins hit the streets of Lagos protesting.

Ignorant Buhari said I don't know what is subsidy calling it a fraud. Today Buhari has committed the highest fraud as he has paid the highest subsidy.

Yes subsidy should go but what palliatives are in place to cushion the effect. APC led government during their empty campaign promises said they will build one refinery every year after fixing all our moribund Refineries, today nothing is done about it, they are only buying shares in Dangote refinery.

This idea of pay 40 million poor Nigerians #5000 is the most foolish and fraudulent idea I have ever come across.

What is the criteria for determining the poor Nigerians?

What effective system has been put in place to see that these funds are rightly and evenly distributed to the people?

What guarantees do we have that the money won't be embezzled as this corrupt government reeks of looting from all angle.

Ask Buhari and his gang of thieves to show you the list of 40million poor Nigeria you will be shocked to see 90% fulani herdsman from Niger, Mali, Chad etc. While the poor people they created in Nigeria are dying in poverty, and some foolish people out of ethnic and religious sentiment are still pushing for APC to retain power beyond 2023

So the whole essence of the subsidy removal is to take money from petroleum cartel and give it to the Buhari CPC cartel.

If Nigerians can stand up and say NO! we don't want the palliative, you will see how the talk about subsidy removal will die automatically

Reduce politicians salaries and allowances not fuel subsidy the only thing we gain from our government. Fix electricity and more trains/ rail lines not stealing 5k from Nigerians

It is just an excuse to raid the Treasury preparatory for the 2023 election. The N2.4T will grow wings, fly into different accounts and reappear in 2023 to be used in bribing everyone into selling their future.

Why not use the money as a loan to multinational oil companies to set up modular refineries across the nation?

Broke minds. No matter how much they are given, they will always be broke in the end.

They should know they are deceiving themselves. 5k palliative can not in any way cushion the effect of subsidy removal.

There is enough to feed the poor but not enough to feed the rich.
