Well, in the US, if the police have to search anyone's property, they must have the permission of the houseowner. Or resident. Or caretaker. If they don't then they have to get a warrant from a judge authorizing a search.

Cases have been thrown out of court over there because policemen searched a premises without permission and without a warrant.

I daresay the same thing happens in Nigeria.

This happened while the people in the area were on general searching of all the houses in the community and cars that passes bye, where the pastor also part of the people going round with the search...So, when getting to his house, he gave excuse that his wife has went out locking the house...They choose to believe him all because he's Pastor and participated actively in the search....
All these happend just because they believe the missing child was Kidnapped by Yahoo boys in the street ( They have huge number of yahoo boys residing in the street)

The owners of the house were not around. Both the pastor and his wife. Someone else did it and kept her body there, maybe as a set-up or to carry later when the turf is clear..

Whichever happened. May God judge the perpetrators accordingly

Irresponsible parents are to blame for most of these tragic cases of missing children; kidnapped children and murdered children.
Children should not be left alone without supervision by their parents.
The male toddler of a famous NIgerian singer drowned in their swimming pool, because his mother left him alone to play with other children whilst she was busy gossiping with other parents inside the living room.
Her excuse was she left him in the care of the housemaid.
The most stupid irresponsibility of NIgerian parents is to leave their children in the care of underage housemaids who are children who don't know anything about parenting.
If you cannot sit down and take care of a child, don't have any.
No child asked to be born to idiots.
